Top management staff of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), have rolled out drums to celebrate the outgoing chairman and chief executive officer of the Commission, Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad.
This was even as Mukhtar congratulated the newly nominated board members of the Commission whose names were sent to the senate for confirmation by the President, Muhammadu Buhari, today, December 3.
Mukhtar and other board members whose tenure expired on May 24 this year but was extended pending constitution of a new board, advised
all heads of Departments to prepare their handing over notes and make the necessary preparations for the smooth transition from the present board to the fourth NAHCON board.
He urged every member of staff to give the new board members all the assistance they need to succeed. He prayed the Almighty to guide them, bless their entry into the Commission and to bless them with best lieutenants that will assist them in the discharge of their duties.
He said that the newly nominated board is made up of seasoned Hajj professionals who will perform excellently due to their experience and competence.
This was as Head of Inspection and Compliance, Dr Ibrahim Tanko, commended the outgoing Chairman for his successful and impressive tenure.
He said that Mukhtar will witness goodness in his endeavours, adding that whoever does well will be blessed with greater achievements.
Also, the NAHCON Assistant Director, Special Duties, Bashir Jazuli said that Mukhtar had always encouraged everyone to obey leaders and work to succeed as individuals and as a team. He called on all to welcome the new board members with open arms to move the Commission to the next level.
He urged everyone to strive to maintain the achievements recorded by the present board.
Oloruntoyin Ajani of the Accounts Department appreciated and congratulated Mukhtar for the excellent work he did for NAHCON and expressed his gratitude to God for having worked with the Chairman and learnt a lot in the process.
He described the outgoing Chairman as a go-getter who got things done no matter the obstacles, saying that he has learnt a lot from the Chairman’s determination.
