The third World war seems knocking on the door as Iran warned that it would respond in a much larger and severe way if Israel retaliates its drone and missile attacks which it launched on Israel yesterday, April 12.
Iran’s armed forces chief, Major General Mohammad Bagheri gave the warning as a follow-up to Iran’s attack against Israel.
He also warned Washington, the United States, not to back Israeli military action.
“Our response will be much larger than tonight’s military action if Israel retaliates against Iran,” Major General Bagheri told Iranian state TV.
He said that Tehran warned Washington that any backing of Israeli retaliation would result in US bases being targeted.
Also, Hossein Salami, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, warned that Iran would retaliate against any Israeli attack on its interests, officials or citizens.
As at this morning, April 14, Israeli officials have not indicated any decision made about an Israeli response to the Iranian attack, as an official said that any potential response would be discussed at the war cabinet meeting later in the day.

This was even as, President Joe Biden of the United States of America vowed to defend Israel in the ongoing war, warning that Iran will not be allowed to succeed against Israel.
Addressing journalists, Biden said: “We are devoted to the defence of Israel. We will support Israel. We will help defend Israel and Iran will not succeed.”
Asked about his message to Iran in the wake of the threat, Biden said, “Don’t.”
Biden said that he wouldn’t be able to reveal secure information, adding that his expectation was that an attack could come “sooner, rather than later.”
A US intelligence had reported that Iran was planning to attack Israel in the next 24 to 48 hours but that no final decision has been taken on the planned attack which are being discussed by Iran’s top leadership.
The report said that Israel is preparing for an attack on either the southern or northern part.
“The strike plans are in front of the Supreme Leader and he is still weighing the political risk,” an adviser to Iran’s Supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was quoted as saying.
