Sharp: Gov Fubara, Signs Rivers Budget 24 Hours After Presenting It To 4-Member Assembly

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, may enter the Guinness Book of Record, being the first State Chief Executive to have moved fastest to sign into law, the budget.

He just signed the 2024 Appropriation Bill of N800 billion into law, which he presented to a 4-member State House of Assembly, presided over by Edison Ehie, yesterday, December 13.
The signing ceremony was held today in the conference room of the Governor’s Office at the Government House.
Governor Fubara had, during his presentation to the assembly, said that the N800 billion budget for the 2024 fiscal year was aimed at promoting economic development through inclusive growth and addressing socio-economic inequality in the state.
He said that the N800, 392,485,433.01 constitutes a Recurrent Expenditure of 361,598,242,570.85 and a Capital Expenditure of 410,266,485,090.64.
