The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the decision to conduct a fresh primary in Kogi state to pick a candidate to replace Prince Abubakar Audu, who died on Sunday shortly after the governorship election was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun who announced this today said that the party took the decision after receiving a letter from INEC that it could replace late Audu.
The need for the fresh primary was necessitated by the death of its candidate for the election, Prince Abubakar Audu.
The INEC had said earlier today that the APC could replace Audu even as it fixed December 5 this year for the conduct of the supplementary election in 91 polling units where elections were either canceled or not held at all.
no date was fixed however by the APC for the primary, but it might not be later than end of this month. [myad]
