President Muhammadu Buhari has told his second-in-command, Professor Yemi Osinbajo on phone from London that he is always in touch with news from home (Nigeria).
The President, who began a 10-day vacation and flew to London on Thursday last week, made this comment on his Twitter handle, @MBuhari, on Sunday in London. He was on cellphone to Acting President Osinbajo, while watching Mr. Femi Adesina who appeared on Politics Today, Channelstv.
A statement by Adesina, who is the President’s special adviser on media and publicity, quoted Buhari as having saluted the Nigerian media for performing its duties diligently.
President Buhari, whose picture was also posted in the tweet, specifically named Channels TV as one of his favorite Television stations.
He said: “Wherever I am, I keep up with news from home. Channels TV is one of my favorites. I’m proud of what the Nigerian media are achieving.”
Adesina said that the post had dispelled the insinuation about the President’s health conditions. [myad]
