Pope Francis, suffering from a medical condition called sciatica, fell to his knee when he arrived at the Jasna Gora shrine in Czestochowa, Poland on July 28 to hold what was described as the holiest mass.
The 79-year-old pope, who has been contending with the medical condition in which pain sometimes severely affects his leg and lower back, fell down in front of millions of worshipers in Czestochowa, Poland.
The Pope , who hails from Argentina, was walking on a stage when he suddenly fell and was quickly helped to his feet by other religious figures.
He subsequently took to his seat, continued the Mass and read his homily normally.
He is on a five-day visit to Poland and was visiting the country’s holiest shrine in the city of Czestochowa, which is in the south of the country. [myad]
