Presidents Goodluck Jonathan of Nigerian and Boni Yayi of Benin Republic as well as officials of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) will take part in the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the Seme-Krake Joint Border Control Post tomorrowmorning, even as President Jonathan takes off from there for a pilgrimage to Israel later in the day.
The Seme-Krake Joint Border Control Post is being constructed under the ECOWAS Transport Facilitation Programme which has the objective of boosting trade and economic relations among member countries
A statement from special adviser to President Jonathan on media and publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati today said that the Nigerian leader is expected to depart Lagos after the ground-breaking ceremony for Israel on what he called “a brief pilgrimage.”
According to Abati, Jonathan will be accompanied to Israel by the Chaplain of the Presidential Villa, Venerable Obioma Onwuzurumba and his principal aides.
He said that in addition to visiting Christian Holy sites in Israel, the President would join other Nigerian pilgrims in a prayer session for the well-being and progress of the country at an Inter-Denominational Service in Jerusalem on Sunday.
He said that the President and his entourage are expected back in Nigeria on Monday.
