Trump is sure going to be one unconventional president!
He spoke from his heart, without reading a line from papers, like a pained man, envisioned from the passion of his perceived desire for America.
Trump pointedly made the following ten remarks which I consider as the critical expressions of a Game Changer:
1. Washington flourished, but the people did not share in its wealth.
2. The establishment protected itself but not the citizens of our country. Their victories have not been your victories. Their triumphs have not been your triumphs, and while they celebrated in our nation’s capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land.
3. What truly matters is not which party controls our government, but whether our government is controlled by the people. Jan. 20, 2017, will be remembered as the day the people became the rulers of this nation again.
4. This American carnage stops right here and stops right now.
5. For many decades we’ve enriched foreign industry at the expense of American industry,
6. From now henceforth, we shall Buy American and Hire American.
7. We will seek friendship and good will with the nations of the world, but we do so with the understanding that it is the right of all nations to put their own interests first.
8. One by one, the factories shuttered and left our shores with not even a thought about the millions and millions of American workers that were left behind. The wealth of our middle class has been ripped from their homes and then redistributed all across the world. But that is the past and now we are looking only to the future.
9. Every decision on trade, on taxes, on immigration, on foreign affairs will be made to benefit American workers and American families. We must protect our borders from the ravages of other countries making our products, stealing our companies and destroying our jobs. Protection will lead to great prosperity and strength.
10. We will no longer accept politicians who are all talk and no action constantly complaining but never doing anything about it. The time for empty talk is over. Now arrives the hour of ACTION!
This American president appears set to chat a new course for “God’s own country” in a manner totally different from previous Presidents.
In days to come, it remains to be seen, how the Trump’s presidency will change the face of the American polity and indeed its relations to the rest of the world.
Trump has by this inaugural speech affirmed, that America will no longer play “Father Christmas” to nations around the globe, for he is elected by Americans as the President of America and not the President of the World!
But then, will he match his words with action, or will the jig-saw of the deeply entrenched American institutions whittle down his change-enthused passion? [myad]
