Popular Zambian pastor, lsaac Amata, has predicted that Democrats’ nominee, Hillary Clinton, will emerge victorious in the United States presidential elections billed for Tuesday (today), ahead of her Republican Party counterpart, Donald Trump.
Amata made this known on his Facebook page – Prophet ISAAC AMATA Prophecies on Tuesday.
This is coming after the General Overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet T.B Joshua predicted that the next President of the United States will be a woman.
Clinton is the only leading female candidate.
The other female presidential candidate is Jill Stein of the Green Party but does not have massive followership.
He said, “By the way, in order not to keep you in suspense, what I frankly saw a woman”
In the same vein, Prophet Amata prophesied, saying: “I SEE PROTESTS..VIOLENCE AND RIOTS AFTER THE VICTORY OF HILLARY CLINTON… DONALD TRUMP WILL NOT ACCEPT DEFEAT.
“Today’s USA elections will go down in history as one of the most turbulent elections ever as the Democratic Party candidate defeats Donald Trump narrowly at Electoral College but massively at the popular votes count.
“Like l said in December 2015 on my Facebook page.
“History beckons for her. It is irreversible!
“Donald Trump will immediately reject the results calling for protests, impeachment against her.
“I saw key states heeding his call. Protests!
“Police drafted to stop the protests as Trump supporters go on rampage!
“The republican senators vowing to oppose her to the last and trying to frustrate her programs and agendas.
“Just like l said 3days ago. Despite all, she will shock many by forming a broad Base Government including people from opposite Republican Party that will bring changes in USA.
“I see a mighty tussle in the Senate.
“Republican Party, get ready for some shocker!
“Barrack Obama legacy continues.
“Destiny can be attacked or fought against but cannot be reversed!
“Congratulations HILLARY CLINTON!
“She is sworn in January 20, 2017 succeeding Barrack Obama.” [myad]
As Americans go to the polls to elect its 45th President, the race between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton remains as close as well.
The investigations into Clinton’s use of private email server have now been concluded with no charges to be brought against the Democrat candidate. But the relevations last weekend have already done enough to give Trump momentum into the final week.
Based on polling data from RealClearPolitics, we have the latest state-by-state predictions and an estimate of the overall electoral college vote.
Clinton has been ahead almost continuously in the Telegraph’s poll of polls, which takes an average of the last five polls published on RealClearPolitics.
The presidential campaign has seen Donald Trump, once Rpublic outsider, close the gap on Clinton before falling back after a series of controversies.
Trump has briefly pulled ahead a couple of times – first on 19 May. His polling threatened to consistently overtake Clinton in September, but has since fallen back after a series of allegations of sexual assault were made against him.
Trump is prone to making gaffes and alienating key demographic groups with his comments. His comments on sexually assaulting women, as well as poor performances in the Presidential debate, had seen Clinton extend her lead.
The New York Times has worked out that, even one day before previous elections, a simple polling average has differed from the final result by about four percentage points. With the polls being still close, anything could happen.
How does the presidential election work?
Each of the 50 states, as well as the District of Columbia, has a certain amount of Electoral College votes to award a candidate, based on the number of members of Congress it has. This is roughly in line with each area’s population. Except in Maine and Nebraska, the votes are given on a winner-takes-all basis.
This system matters, as the popular vote is less important than the electoral college vote. Clinton’s campaign should be buoyed by big Democratic states such as New York, New Jersey, Illinois and California, and these populous states could lead her to victory with their large number of electoral college votes.
For example, in 2008, Barak Obama won 53 per cent of the vote – but this led to 68 per cent of the electoral college vote. Such highly populated states played a large role when they backed the current president.
The states to watch
Swing states – states that often switch between Democrat and Republican in different elections – are also important.
Swing states explained in 90 seconds Play! 01:33
States like Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia have the power to swing the election. So far, neither Trump nor Clinton has a significant lead in these crucial states.
Why are the US election polls so close?
Both candidates suffer from unpopularity, both within their own parties and among the public at large.
Some big Republicans figures have refused to endorse Trump, while YouGov polling has shown that just over half of Bernie Sanders’’ supporters would back Clinton.
New York Times and CBS News polling has shown that the two candidates’ popularity is limited by the public’s lack of trust in both of them.
Just a third of Americas think Clinton is honest and trustworthy, compared to 35 per cent thinking the same of Trump; 57 per cent of people say they don’t share Clinton’s values, while the number is even higher for Trump, at 62 per cent.
More people think Clinton has the right kind of temperament and personality to be a good president, while Trump has the advantage when people pick the candidate who they think could bring about “real change” in Washington.
US presidential election 2016: the key data Play! 02:22
What are the odds on the American presidential election?
It has long been said of predicting sporting outcomes that the bookies don’t get it far wrong, working out probabilities with complicated mathematics based on the choices of their thousands of paying punters.
After last year’s surprise General Election result in the UK, as well as the Brexit vote, many political followers have lost faith in pollsters and prefer to look at the odds to predict the future.
Hillary Clinton has been odds-on favourite since the end of February, but Trump has steadily caught her up as his Republican rivals dropped out. Last July he was a 25/1 shot while Hillary was already at evens.
Coral’s latest odds for the next US president are:
Hillary Clinton: 2/9
Donald Trump: 3/1
How could demographics impact the US election?
Age, race, gender and education are all big dividing points in the Presidential race, with polling showing that men and whites are backing Trump, and women and ethnic minorities are supporting Clinton.
Race has always been a huge dividing line in the US election, and the clash between Trump and Clinton is no different. Just 17 per cent of Hispanics and three per cent of black people back Trump, according to recent polling.
This could prove significant in this election. For example, Hispanics account for more than a fifth of the population in four key swing states.
Education is another big demographic division in the race – and there’s a reason why Trump said he “loved the poorly educated”.
Among high school graduates or those with a lower level of education, Trump has the backing of 44 per cent – compared to the 36 per cent who support Clinton.
This could prove significant in the swing states of Georgia and Nevada, which both have a high proportion of people failing to graduate from high school.
We’ve mapped out each candidate’s road to the White House here and you can also keep up with what to look out for in the US Senate and House of Representatives elections, also due to happen tomorrow, with our hand guide. [myad]
President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the outgoing Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole to get ready for another national assignment after handing over the mantle of leadership to his successor next week. President Buhari, who spoke at the Palace of the new Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Nku Akpolokpolo Ewuare 11, shortly before he embarked on the commissioning of several projects in the State, said that the country would be the loser if the government of All Progressives Congress (APC) fails to utilize the people’s governor’s wisdom, skill and energy. “It will be a pity to waste his energy by him retiring. I hope there will be a higher assignment for him to do more for the nation. “I congratulate the Governor for his hard work; Oshiomhole is a hard working Governor. We will need his services in Abuja. “Thank you for inviting me, most especially during this time in the country. “You have served two terms and you are about to leave. You deserve a place in history. I hope the APC will look for a place for you because your service for the country is far from over.” President Buhari congratulated the Oba for successfully ascending the throne of his ancestors and extended the support of the Federal government to his Royal highness in his bid to improve the lives of Edo people. The Oba in his speech, expressed delighted on the president’s visit, noting that it was the first since his recent coronation. “We believe this is a sign of better things to come. I appreciate your contribution to my coronation,” Oba Ewuare II said. The royal father, who commended the President for appointing Edo indigenes into positions in government appealed for the establishment of an export and import processing zone for agro-allied industries in the state. He said the venture would stimulate the nation’s economy and create jobs. After paying homage to the Oba, President Buhari who is on 2-day working visit to Edo commissioned the renovated Central Hospital in Benin. The medical facility which was established in 1902 was rebuilt by the state government under Oshiomhole. At the event, President Buhari praised the state-of-the art facility rebuilt by the Governor, noting that he had the choice of using the available money for his comfort by building a new government house but he opted for a hospital to help the people. President Buhari commissioned the Upper Siluko Road in Benin City, which he described as “no ordinary type of road.” The President inspected the Queen Ede Gulley erosion site and commissioned the Samuel Ogbemedia College rebuilt to ‘world class standard.’ President Buhari commended the quality of infrastructure built by the outgoing Governor, noting that the history of EDOMARUSE state will not be complete without his name. The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, has cautioned the Nigerian media, especially online publications, not to celebrate the killing of soldiers by Boko Haram insurgents, reminding them that ridiculing the soldiers is the same thing as ridiculing the country.
The army chief who spoke to news men today, Monday in Abuja after declaring open a one-day seminar on: “Assessing the Threats of Boko Haram Insurgency in Nigeria,” regretted that online media had misunderstood Nigerian Army in its handling of the war against terrorism in the North East. “We call on Nigerians, Nigeria press, especially the online media, to take note that they are Nigerians; they should behave like Nigerians and be patriotic. They should take the issue of defence and security as their personal issue, not to criticise, not to malign, not to smear anybody that is making sacrifice. “Defence and security is issue that should be the concern of everybody, issues of security and defence are not just discussed like political issues. It is a serious national security issue that must be discussed with caution, it is must be discussed with high sense of patriotism, with high sense of security, national security and protection of our sovereignty. “Whatever happens to the military it is the symbol of our sovereignty, so if you ridicule the military; if you ridicule any of the security agencies, you are ridiculing your own country; you are ridiculing your own sovereignty. “You must be very cautious in handing any issue that has to do with the army in particular. We are not politicians we are doing our job professionally. “This is the understanding we expect every Nigerian to show. Normal administrative matters are not meant for criticism.” The Chief of Army Staff is not happy with a situation where some of the online media would be celebrating the death of personnel who paid the supreme price to make their country and its people secure. Buratai said: “We have a lot to do to ensure that the country is safe,” even as he said that the fight against insurgency and terrorism required the support of every Nigerian. On late Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Abu Ali, he described his death as “one too many.” Ali was killed by terrorists in Mallam Fatori in Northern Borno State on November 4 in their failed attempt to seize the town. Until his death, he was the Commanding Officer of 272 Task Force Battalion, Mallam Fatori. Earlier, while declaring the seminar open, Buratai said the armed forces had effectively responded to the threats of Boko Haram terrorists in the North East, leading to their decimation. He said that the threats of the terrorists since 2009 and other violent agitations in other parts of the country had threatened the sovereignty and corporate existence of the nation. He also said: “In the North-East for instance, our forces operating under the Multi National Joint Task Force and Operation Lafiya Dole have restored normalcy in areas that were previously under the control of the Boko Haram terrorists and are currently conducting mop- up operations to clear isolated remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists in Sambisa forest.” Also speaking, Dr. John Pham, the Director of the African Centre, Atlantic Council, USA, said the centre had been following progress made by the Nigerian troops in the campaign against insurgency in the country. The Atlantic Council is a think tank in the field of international affairs. It provides a forum for international political, business and intellectual leaders. It manages 10 regional centres and functional programmes related to international security and global economic prosperity. Pham said it was important for Nigeria, its neighbours and the international community that the terrorists were defeated as their activities had caused untold suffering and a setback to regional integration and economic growth. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has regretted that Nigeria could not achieve the targets of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) for water and sanitation as a result of lack of effective coordination among stakeholders and the inability to harness the required funds. “Consequently, about 150,000 children under the age of 5 die annually from diarrhea-related diseases that are mostly traceable to unsafe drinking water. The situation is even more depressing in the rural areas where polluted ponds and streams remain the only source of water for drinking and other household chores. This trend must change!” Vice President Osinbajo spoke today, Monday while unveiling the National Water Policies and launching of the Partnership for Expanded Water Supply and Hygiene in Abuja. Osinbajo wondered why most people take the issue of water management lightly we take, saying that excess water or insufficient water not properly managed is devastating to both man and environment. He said that the problem is made more graphic by the fact that since the creation of man, aggregate volume of water within the hydrosphere has substantially remained constant in spite of increasing population, which implies the per capita share is decreasing on a daily basis. He noted that all has not been just bad new in Nigeria, explaining that successive governments, in collaboration with development partners, have recorded in a number of areas, with access to water supply presently at 69percent, and sanitation at 29 percent. “This is still a far cry from what is needed. Indeed, within an ever increasing population and a drive to self-sufficiency in food production, the demand for water supply and sanitation service will continue to increase thereby requiring an innovative and holistic approach towards closing the access gaps. “The Ministry of Water Resources has concluded work on the National Water Resources Policy and the National Irrigation Policy and was recently approved by the Federal Executive Council. “By this, the ministry is provided with the overarching framework which will guide the activities of all stakeholders in the sector in the wake of our renewed focus on agriculture as a revenue earner and contributor to our GDP and importantly, the development of our irrigation infrastructure. I am informed that PEWASH will provide a new collaborative and systematic approach to the achievement of an increased universal access to sustainable water supply and sanitation services involving all the relevant stakeholders from the beneficiary communities, local government areas, state governments, development partners, donor agencies, the organized private sector and the Federal Government. “It will also take cognizance of special groups such as the vulnerable and people living with disabilities with a well-structured framework for project delivery. It is expected that with the implementation of PEWASH, we hope to attain our targets of increased rural water supply and sanitation and health as well as make positive impact on economic growth and human development.” The Vice President commended the Minister for Water Resources, Engineer Suleiman Adamu for his strong belief and practice of policy-driven initiative. According to Osinbajo, it is clear that the minister is strongly subscribes to the view that the way of ensuring sustainable attainment is in ensuring that they are based on robust policy. He also commended all development partners involved in this great initiative, for their commitments through the years with particular reference to the Permanent Secretary and members of the team at the Ministry of Water Resources for all the hard work that has gone into this so far. “I encourage all stakeholders, especially the states and local governments to participate in this crucial initiative and commit to its success so that our common development goals as a nation will be achieved.” [myad]
The Nigerian Union Diaspora (NUD), an umbrella organization for the social, political, and economic empowerment of Nigerians in the Diaspora has asked Nigerian-Americans to vote en masse in the US general elections tomorrow, November 8, warning that if Donald Trump, the Republican Presidential nominee wins the election, no fewer than 11 million immigrants would be deported to their countries. “With Trump (winning the election), more than 11 million undocumented immigrants, including many Nigerians, will be deported back to their home countries. “…Donald J. Trump idea of “Make America Great Again” is premised on racism, protectionism, xenophobia, bigotry, and hegemony.” A statement by the Secretary-General of the Nigerian Union Diaspora, Dr. SKC Ogbonnia said that it is not a new story that people of Nigerian descent in America are in millions. “More significantly, the Nigerian-Americans are the most credentialed ethnic group and have remained in the upper half in house-hold-income in the United States.” The statement regretted, however, that this excellence in achievement has not translated to a greater advantage or sustained influence. “The reason is not far fetched: our low voting pattern does not reflect our enviable status in the American society. To put it another way, despite our high level of education, we have continued to view politics in a pejorative sense and thus do not always take voting serious.” The NUD stressed that the character of the 2016 US general election offers the opportunity for a change for the better. The statement reminded members that tomorrow’s election features two main presidential candidates who present a stark choice for the future of Nigerians in America. On Hillary R. Clinton, the Democrat nominee, the statement said that her campaign theme of “Stronger Together” features a manifesto for fairer policies on race relations, immigration, foreign trade, and education. “Very strikingly, once elected, Clinton will provide free university education for families on annual income of $125,000 or less—a demography that includes most Nigerians in the United States. “These positions informed the decision of Nigerian Union Diaspora to endorse Hillary Clinton for President a fortnight ago. Please VOTE en masse!” [myad]
“I never knew sex is this sweet; since I was born I have not experienced this before. It is sweeter than everything; in fact I wish I can do it every day.”
This was a confession of a Ghanaian pastor, Apostle Job Antwi who had earlier vowed to marry as a virgin.
He told FM’s Weekend City show in an interview that sex is the ‘sweetest thing on earth.’
The Man of God who tied the knot last weekend said, he never knew there was ‘something sweet’ in women until he married.
Recounting his first sexual experience, Apostle Antwi said he nearly cried because he didn’t want to disappoint his newly wedded wife.
But, he said his wife whom he claimed is experienced sexually, assisted him to navigate his way through the ‘Garden of Eden’ very easily.
“My wife has dated before and has experience, so, she taught me how to do it. I love my wife than every lady on this earth” he stressed.
Job Antwi maintained that, he is still anointed and powerful even after breaking his virginity since he is lawfully married.
“If you marry in the Lord and you sleep with a woman, God likes it, so still, the power of God is upon me.” [myad]
Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) has donated a modern e-library worth over N1.03 billion naira to literary community in Port Harcourt, Rivers State Capital. The library, according to a statement by the company’s image maker, Precious Okolobo, is one of the N2 billion social investment projects Shell exclusively sponsored in the Niger Delta to mark Nigeria’s centenary anniversary. The others, he said, are a hospital and sports centre in Bayelsa and Delta states respectively. Okolobo said that the company had spent N790 million on the project that was implemented via a Memorandum of Understanding with the Port Harcourt Library Society, which contributed an additional N240 million. “SPDC invested exclusively on this library project because of its strong conviction that it will deliver significant benefits and positively impact the lives of the people.” He quoted the Managing Director of The Shell Petroleum and Development Company of Nigeria Ltd (SPDC) and Country Chair Shell Companies in Nigeria, Osagie Okunbor, at the commissioning ceremony as saying: “we are pleased to deliver an ultra-modern public library that would rank as one of the biggest and most IT-driven in the country. The feedback we’re receiving shows that the literary scene in the Garden City has already changed.” Okolobo also quoted Nigeria’s National Librarian, Professor Lenrie Aina as saying that the facility which has been named ‘Port Harcourt Literary Society Library’ is the ‘first complete public library in Nigeria. Professor Aina said that aside from Shell ensuring supply of power, books and cooling, every comfort of book lovers has been taken into consideration in the design and construction of the library. Meanwhile, the Rivers state Deputy Governor, Dr. Ipalibo Banigo, in a speech delivered by her Senior Special Assistant, Mrs. Inegogo Fubara, thanked SPDC for supporting the state government’s desire to provide sustainable and affordable education to the people. Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Port Harcourt Literary Society, Dr. Chidi Amuta said the library was designed to be the heart of the Port Harcourt Book Centre that was originally conceived to commemorate the recognition of Port Harcourt by UNESCO as the 2014 World Book Capital. He added: “Oher structures awaiting donor evaluation and sponsorship include a writers’ hostel, an event centre/exhibition hall and a theatre. The Book Centre, like the Muson Centre in Lagos along which it is modeled, is conceived as a centre of culture and enlightenment.” An obviously elated Senator Magnus Abe said: “In everything Shell has done in the Niger Delta, today they have made a statement that will never go away. They have set us as a people as partners, in truth, because it is books that will develop the Niger Delta. “So, having associated themselves with books today in the lives of our children and in the lives of our youths, Shell has made an indelible contribution to the true development of this region. We will never forget you.’ The cynosure of all eyes at the event was 10-year old Shawn Ene who single-handedly raised over N250,000 for the donation of children’s books under the special support programme of Shell Nigeria staff’s volunteer group, Shell Employees Care. There were also poetry and drama performances at the commissioning of the library. [myad]
Family of late Sam Okwaraji who was Super Eagles attacker is still angry with Nigerian government for not adequately honouring him years after he died on the pitch of play. Sam Okwaraji slumped and died in 1989 during a World Cup qualifier against Angola in Lagos. Speaking in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) today, Monday, at the Sam Okwaraji Stadium, Orlu in Imo State at the opening of Sam Okwaraji Memorial Football Competition, his brother, Pat Okwaraji, regretted that Nigerian heroes who died for the nation, including his brother, were not properly honoured by the government. “We did not expect the Nigerian government to give Okwaraji’s family gold and silver. What we expected from the country is to immortalize our son who died for the nation.” He said that his brother who was pursuing his doctorate in law as at the time he died was forgotten after his death. “Nigeria should learn how to inspire young talents by celebrating them. “When heroes are celebrated and immortalized, it will go a long way to inspire young talents.” He commended the sponsor of the competition, which he said was a big honour to the entire family. “We are happy that our son is being honoured and remembered through this competition; I want to encourage athletes to see it as an opportunity to excel in their career.” The competition is organized by a governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2015 general election in Imo State. The Nigeria Chief of Army of Staff, Lt.-General Tukur Buratai, shed tears as he read the funeral oration at the graveside of the seven military men killed by the Boko Haram terrorists.
They are: late Lt.-Colonel Muhammad Abu-Ali, Sergeants Muazu Ibrahim, Bassey Okon, Hussani Jafaru, Cpl. Chukwu Simon, Private Salisu Lawal and Seaman Patrick Paul.
They died when the terrorists attempted to seize Mallam Fatori on November 4 in an attack.
The soldiers were inducted into the Operation Lafiya Dole in 2014, designed to fight the Boko Haram insurgents and liberate the North-East from their hold.
Buratai said: “they were brave, precise, professional and inspiring. They led the battle to recapture the following towns: Monguno, Baga, new Marte, Bama, Gwoza, Banki Junction, Gamboru-Ngala, Yale, Yanteke, Bita, Deruwa, Daira Kangaruwa and Mallam Fatori.
“In these battles, they rescued children and women, fathers and mothers, the young and the old and restored peace and hope to Nigerian citizens”
“At last, on November 4, they paid the supreme sacrifice in the battle of Mallam Fatori,’’ Buratai said.
According to him, the deceased epitomized the very best of our military, saying: “they exemplified the values of our nation and the military which are: loyalty, discipline, courage, selfless service, respect, honour and dignity.”
Buratai said that the deceased fought for the unity of the nation, adding: “your labour will never be in vain.”
He promised that the army would take care of their survivors.
Earlier, President Muhammadu Buhari, who was represented by his Chief of Staff at the occasion by Alhaji Abba Kyari, said the deceased had shown unalloyed commitment to the nation.
“They were fearless, responsive, inspiring, selfless and dedicated to their duties.
“The selflessness of these gentlemen reinvigorates the memories of other great fallen heroes, who stood firm in the defence of our dear nation,’’ the president said.
Buhari said that the deceased had paid the supreme sacrifice in the ongoing fight against insurgency in the North-East, adding that their sacrifices would not go in vain. He also noted that their contributions had resulted in the restoration of normalcy in the region.
“It is, therefore, our resolve that the labour of these fallen heroes shall never be in vain,” he said, adding that insurgency and terrorism would be defeated.
The dignitaries that attended the funeral included the service chiefs, Gov. Kashim Shettima of Borno, Ministers of Information and culture, and Interior, and Senators Ali Ndume, Dino Melaye and Phillip Aduda.
Also at the burial were the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, and wife of the Senate President, Toyin Saraki, among others.
The deceased were interred at about 5.55 p.m. after all necessary military ceremonies. [myad]
