Those Agitating For Secession, Restructuring Are Asking For Impossible – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has asked those who are agitating for restructuring and secession in the country to forget it because they are asking for the impossible.
He tagged such people as being both naïve and “mischievously dangerous.”
In a message to the launching of the Kudirat Abiola Sabon Gari Peace Foundation in Zaria, Kaduna State yesterday, June 19, the President made it clear that his government had no time for any obscure conference, which has to do with the callbfor a constitutional conference.
“You are telling us to dissolve a system and call for an obscure conference to come and discuss how we can move forward as a nation. That can never be done and no country will agree to that,” Buhari said
The President, who was represented as at the event by the Executive Secretary, Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Alhaji Mohammed Bello Shehu, said those calling for the balkanization of Nigeria are only doing so to destabilise his government.
“There is no government in the world that will cede their authority to the people that are not elected.”
He wondered what the advocates of restructuring wanted precisely, saying: “Those who are discussing restructuring, my question is what are you going to restructure?
“If you ask many Nigerians what are they going to restructure, you will find out that they have nothing to talk about.
“Some of them have not even studied the 1999 Constitution. The 1999 Constitution is almost 70 to 80 per cent 1979 Constitution.
“It is okay to demand for restructuring, renewal of constitution, but what is most important now is how can Nigeria states make local governments functional? How can Nigerian states make the judiciary independent?
“Rather, we ask Nigerians to put focus on putting pressure on National Assembly members to make sure that the local government autonomy as enshrined in our constitution is respected and implemented.
“So, if that were to be done, some of the issues like insecurity, you will find a situation where local government chairmen, in collaboration with traditional rulers, will form a chain of communication to figure out what is really happening.
“So, those who are doing that (agitating) should go back and meet their representatives in the House of Assembly and ask for whatever amendment of constitution. Due process should be followed.
“The other issue is that those who are calling for restructuring and conference or what they call ethnic nationality, if you go to Southern Kaduna, Taraba, who is to represent them? We have different combination of ethnicities in many states.
“Even Kano and Kaduna, Igbos have properties. The same goes with Yorubas. There are “Fulani in Port Harcourt. So those calling for whether separation or restructuring, some of them I will say are very naive or even mischievously dangerous.
“Those agitating for secession are ignorant of war and its consequences, because Nigeria is a dominant force in West Africa.
“My appeal to each and everyone here is to try and educate their children. We are better as a nation. There is no way we can be separated.
“And I said also that majority of those calling for restructuring are people that are so afraid to go into partisan politics. And even if they were to go into partisan politics, they will not win.”

Buhari Advises ECOWAS To Be Vigilant Against Anti-Democratic Agents

President Muhammadu Buhari has advised West African leaders to be vigilant against antidemocratic agents that are still lurking in dark corners.
Buhari, in his statement delivered at the 59th Ordinary session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS in Accra, Ghana yesterday, June 19, said: “recent events in Mali are sad reminders that vigilance remains a crucial imperative to protect people’s aspirations to freely choose the form of Government they want.
The President, who dwelt on the situation in Mali that was recently suspended from the regional bloc due to a military coup, called for the review of a number of important reports dealing with various issues of concerns to the organisation and people.
“In doing so, we must take realistic and practical decisions which will positively impact our citizens.
“Some of those decisions, necessarily will have to do with evolving political and security situations in our sub-region as well as evaluate the health of our organisation with the hope of repositioning to serve our people and sub-region better.
“While democracy continues to develop in our sub-region, recent events in Mali are sad reminders that vigilance remains a crucial imperative to protect people’s aspirations to freely choose the form of Government they want.
“Pressures are needed to ensure that the transition process in Mali, which is half-way to its conclusion, is not aborted.
“A further slide in Mali could prove catastrophic to the Sub-region, considering that about half of that country is unfortunately under the grip of terrorists.”
Buhari appealed to the military leadership in Mali to understand the critical state of their country, which he described as being “clearly under siege.”
According to him, the principal responsibility of the military must be to protect and guarantee the sovereignty of the West African country, even as he cautioned them not to perpetuate acts that would facilitate the destabilization and destruction of Mali.
“I urge our organization to remain engaged with all stakeholders in Mali through our astute Mediator, former President Goodluck Jonathan, who, I congratulate warmly, for his untiring efforts thus far. I encourage him to sustain these efforts to ensure that the transition is completed as scheduled.”
On Libya, President Buhari faulted the recent United Nations Resolution to expel all foreign fighters in Libya, without first ensuring that they are disarmed and non-collaboration with regional stakeholders.
“On the security situation in the region, our organisation must note with serious concern, the recent decision by the United Nations and its Resolution to expel all foreign fighters in Libya, without first, ensuring that they are disarmed and that neighbouring countries and the Sub-regions were engaged, to put in place modalities for containing or managing the movement of these fighters.
“While this action was aimed at bringing about sustenance of peace in Libya, non-collaboration with regional stakeholders on this critical decision, has now created newer threats to peace, security and stability in the region, which could lead to lack of coordinated management of huge humanitarian crisis across the Sahel, North, Central and West Africa, including the Lake Chad region.”
President Buhari cautioned that these regions are facing the clear possibility of instability with the invasion of the foreign fighters that are fully armed, stressing: “it is imperative that ECOWAS leaders, at this Summit, decide how the UN-Sub-regional organisations partnerships should be reviewed to address the dangers that this UN Resolution poses to the region.”
The statement by the Nigerian leader at the Summit also addressed other pertinent issues of concern in the  organisation, including the ongoing institutional reforms in ECOWAS.
Buhari declared Nigeria’s unequivocal support to the reforms process, looking forward to an ECOWAS that is fit for the purpose of delivering services to the satisfaction of the community citizens.
He commended the President of the Commission and his team, the Ad-hoc Ministerial Committee on Institutional Reforms as well as the Council of Ministers for the excellent report presented to the Authority of Heads of State.
“We have clearly realised that operating a bloated administration with the current global economic collapse occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic will be to the detriment of services to our people which is not sustainable.
“This positive action will certainly enable our organisation move on and deliver services to the satisfaction of our Community citizens.
“Let me remind us that this is only the beginning as the responsibility of streamlining operational costs as well as the modalities for the appointment of Statutory positions of the incoming management are still outstanding.
“It is my view that paying attention to existing regulations that guide the appointment of statutory appointees will further guarantee the efficiency and sustainability of the organization.”
In his capacity as the ECOWAS champion on the fight against Covid-19, President Buhari also drew attention to the need for more citizens in the region to be vaccinated, stressing the need for adherence to other non-pharmaceutical interventions.
He said the West African region was in the grip of a third wave, warning against complacency in national and regional initiatives to address the pandemic.
“The region has experienced two waves of the Covid-19 pandemic, with the second wave being more prevalent with higher death rates.
“Although we appear to have come out of the second wave, there is a very strong possibility that we may experience a third wave similar to what is going on in other parts of the world, particularly as vaccination levels are still very low.
“It is therefore critical to maintain vigilance and deploy smart non-pharmaceutical public health measures as necessary.
“We must not relent; our Ministers of Health in collaboration with WAHO should intensify their regular Coordinating Committee meetings to maintain the unified regional approach in the fight against Covid-19.”

CBN Launches Pilot Digital Currency Before End Of 2021

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is preparing a digital currency pilot that could be launched as early as the end of this year.

Reuters quoted the Director of information technology of the CBN, Rakiya Mohammed as saying in a recording today, June 18, that

the project to create some form of digital currency had been in the works for two years.

“We’re all aware that about 80% of central banks in the world exploring the possibility of issuing central bank digital currency, and Nigeria cannot be left behind,” Mohammed said in the June 10 virtual briefing with bankers. The Central Bank communications team shared a recording of the briefing with Reuters. She said the system would expand digital inclusion, make remittances from the diaspora easier and smooth international purchases for Nigerians. “If you have a central bank digital currency that is backed by the government, then people can make transactions online without fear of any default.”

Europe and the United States are working on regulating digital assets and their providers, while some other countries, including China, Britain and Russia, are also considering launching their own central bank digital currencies.

Nigeria had barred its banks and financial institutions from dealing in or facilitating transactions in cryptocurrencies in February this year after exponential growth in monthly cryptocurrency transfers to and from Africa.

God’ll Condemn Lot Of Pastors, Primate Ayodele Blows Out, Says Christians Are Problems Of Nigeria

“God is going to condemn lot of pastors.

“Christians are the problems of Nigeria.

“They don’t have love. They have different doctrines, and some preaching are not even biblical.”

These are the words of an angry Primate Elijah Ayodele, Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, over the silence of top church leaders on the death of Prophet TB Joshua.

Primate Ayodele  regretted that the love and unity in Christianity have been destroyed by top men of God with the spirit of envy and hatred, adding: “Christians are the problem of the church.

“Everyone will die one day, but it’s unfortunate that a Christian brother died and the so called big pastors can’t say a word of condolence.

“Is that how good leaders act? What they have done is wrong.

“What does it take CAN, PFN to come out when the death happened to pay condolences?

“The likes of Chris Okotie went ahead to call TB Joshua a wizard.

“Some called him devil while he was alive.

“Was it God that revealed to them that he is working for the devil?

“Why not bring an evidence?

“When the beloved son of Pastor Adeboye died, TB Joshua sent condolences and ordered a one minute moment of silence to honour the deceased, but now that he is dead, what have they done?

“These are part of hooliganism in Christianity.

“It’s quite unfortunate.

“I’m highly disappointed in Pastor Adeboye who is seen as a prominent Christian leader for keeping silent on this.

“Every one of us will die someday.

“This is not the time for hatred.

“There is so much hatred in Christianity and that is why I will never join CAN, PFN or any Christian association.

“They are associations of envy and hatred.

“They claim that they went to bible school.

“Is that what the bible taught them?

“If at all TB Joshua offended anyone, why can’t they forgive him?

“They should all change.

“They are getting older.

“CAN, PFN are just associations for the government and for personal gains.

“These associations are not biblical.

“I have no apology.

“I don’t want anyone to like me.

“I am saying this the way I feel.

“This is a time when we need love and unity in Christianity, but those that are the supposed leaders have killed the spirit of love in Christianity.

“The administrators of these associations are selfish, greedy and totally self-centered.

“We need to support one another.

“Let the bigger pastors help the lesser ones to grow.

“That’s what we need in Christianity.

“Not all these associations causing division.”

Road Accidents Claimed Lives Of More Nigerians Than COVID-19 In January – Minister

Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola has said that road accidents claimed the lives of more people than COVID-19 pandemic even as he argued that majority of such accidents are not as a result of bad roads.
According to Fashiola, the Lagos-Ibadan Highway, the Abuja-Kano Highway, and Abuja-Keffi-Lafia Highway, have the highest cumulative number of road accidents, saying that for the month of January 2021, more people died of road accidents than COVID-19 and malaria combined.
The Minister spoke to newsmen shortly after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting today, June 16, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential Villa, Abuja.
Fashola said: “So, we saw that this was something that needed to be focused on. “We saw that for the month of January, the number of people who died from road crashes exceeded the combined numbers of people who died from malaria and COVID-19 together for the same month.
“While COVID and malaria were receiving national concerted attention, perhaps it was necessary to bring this to the attention of government as part of our strategy for protecting life and property.
“So, we identified the need for various actions to be taken from municipal, local government level to state and national level.”
He said that the process is on to reduce road accidents in federal highways, including the installation of road traffic signs and more patrol.
“We are looking at also putting speed metres on the highway. There is a combination of factors and we are also trying to educate drivers. We saw that the biggest factor for these accidents from overspeeding, loss of control, wrongful overtaking, brake failure, tyre blowing out points to the role of the driver.
“Consistently over the years and this data is available. The impact of bad roads and accidents was less than 2%. As big as that may be, it is less than 2%.
“These factors I have mentioned; overspeeding, loss of control, wrongful overtaking cumulate to over 70%. If we reduce this, we bring the numbers down.”

FEC Approves Resumption Of Abuja N1 Trillion Land Swap Project

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the resumption of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) land swap initiative that began under the previous administration.
The minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Muhammad Musa Bello, who spoke to newsmen shortly after the council meeting today, June 16 at the presidential villa, Abuja said that FEC approved the resumption following a memo he presented to the council.
The initiative was designed to remedy the infrastructure deficit in the federal capital by swapping land with private investors who would in turn provide necessary infrastructure.
Muhammad Musa Bello said that some amendments were made to the original form of the initiative by establishing a legal framework to protect all parties.
“After a review of what has transpired over the years, and changes made, the Federal Executive Council approved that we now continue with the land swap initiative on the basis of amendments to the procedures as well as new safeguards introduced so that investors, the FCT, that is the government,  as well as off-takers will be protected. So, this is what we discussed today.”
The minister explained that the deal is an initiative between the FCT administration and the private sector that would ensure provision of infrastructure to develop the districts in the territory.
He said that under it, the private investors will provide all the infrastructure within a particular district and then they will be paid for with land.
“They will take a certain percentage of the land developable within that district, while the FCT administration will take a certain percent.
“The whole essence is to encourage the development of the city according to the masterplan in designated districts and then, of course, to also to resolve the issue of compensation and payments and relocation of people as the city grows, and then of course, to reduce the overall housing deficit within the FCT. So, basically, this is the background.
“And what we have approved today is to establish a very solid legal system, whereby all the parties in this transaction are protected. And who are the parties, the first party is the investor, the second party is the FCT administration, while the third party are the off-takers.
“And in so doing, investors will create a special purpose vehicle, whereby the investors will come in and then the quantum of the investment will be determined on the basis of which the financial institutions will provide financial guarantees to the administration through performance bonds.
“And this performance bond will cover the totality of the project, and will be reducing as the project is being delivered.
“And then the land that is going to be used as swapping for the investment that is going to be held in custody by designated financial institution, which will serve as the custodian. Because, of course, as milestones are being achieved, land will be released to the investors which, obviously, they will sell and use to pay for their investment. So, this is the whole concept.”
The minister said that the idea of reviewing the agreement was to bring in “conditionalities that protects everybody, and all these is done based on the experience of the administration over the last few years regarding previous investments done particularly using the mass housing housing model, which is really in terms of size is just a fraction of what we are talking.
“So, this is the whole essence, this is what we intend to start rolling out now based on the conditions approved to the effect.”

We Recovered N1 Billion From A Civil Servant Last Week, EFCC Boss, Bawa, Laments

Abdulrasheed Bawa

Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), AbdulRasheed Bawa has lamented that the Commission recovered a billion naira cash from just a civil servant last week.
Speaking at a public forum today, June 16, Bawa said that corruption is still dominant in the civil service, saying: “the one billion naira is in cash, not property.”
He wondered that if only one civil servant, whose name he refused to mention, could corner as much as a billion naira, how much many of such corrupt civil servant would have by now stashed away.
The EFCC boss noted that despite all the government’s measures, there are still financial leakages and other questionable devices through which corruption is still thriving.
The leakages, he said, are everywhere; from budget processing, all through to the allocation of funds, disbursement of budget and other services down the line.

Ancient Sultan’s Predictions About Likely Collapse Of His Caliphate

The metaphorical accuracy and symbiotic perspective of this historic presentation by Abbas Ibn Mohammed goes beyond a merely coincidental or ordinary fictitious storyline, from an ancient allegorical folktale, dramatising a voyeuristic interpretation of an imaginary plot, or, perhaps, could it be part of nature’s profoundly visionary and telepathically secret signs of coded language about the ominous future of the decaying Sokoto caliphate, under a decadent siege syndrome of an externally brainwashed and spiritually conscienceless generation of compromised heir?
Well, whatever may be the thematic thrusts, motives and contemprenous motivations of the many reasons of the unpalatable tragedies seemingly popping up their ugly heads, in a serially bizarre but rapidly suicidal succession in the contemporary domains of the Danfodian ancient Sokoto Caliphate at the moment, Abbas Ibn Mohmmed’s Graphic Analysis of Sheikh Usman Danfodio’s Past Dream Of a collapsing Caliphate, under a fictionally demobilized moral characterized tagged: “The 18th Sultan” is beyond simplistic, or ordinary accidental coincidences!
I believe that all serious and concerned Members of the Muslim Ummah within and outside Nigeria Will applaud Abbas Mohammed, for his timely response to the deadly virus that seems to be the undetected but ultimately organic killer disease that might be the cause of Islamic Disunity in Nigeria, which had been overshadowed by apparent indifference of hitherto , unperturbed engagements by virtually all Muslim Stakeholders!
I think, instead of indulging in ostrich-nagging debates and rancorous harangues about the visible threats of Sheik Usman Danfodio’s Ancient Promination which beastial reality is exposed by the incidental Political Solidarity between the Mala- Buni’s Northern Pro OBJ El-Rufai Cliques, Against the South-West Muslims, who have been discriminated and subdued by their own so called Yoruba elites,on the basis of religious beliefs, despite the undeniable facts and substative merits of the established historical testimony, that, without Muslim Support, “The Awoism which most of the Self-Serving and power mongering bigots from the South-west adlib to gain recognition and access to national political state, would have been in vain without Yoruba Muslim politicians, serving as (his, Pa Awolowo’s) indispensable pillars of unbendable support!
However, in conclusion, all I can say for now, to the Northern traitors and pro El-Rufai APC sponsored mobsters, is to refer them to the eloquent testimonies of Sheikh Usman Danfodio’s voyeoristic incitement.
