We’ll Re-Allocate Lands Whose Owners Fail To Settle C Of O Fees, FCT Minister, Wike Warns

The minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyeson Wike has warned land owners in Abuja to pay the fees for the Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) within a stipulated time frame or have such lands reallocated to interested parties.
“We believe it is essential for individuals to fulfill their obligations. After the grace period expires, these lands will be reallocated to interested parties.”
Wike, who spoke to newsmen today, December 31, after inspecting some ongoing road projects in the capital city, expressed surprise that some of the lands were allocated as far back as 10 years ago.
He stressed that the grace period for land allottees to pay their C of O fees would not be extended.
The minister said that the list of some individuals regarding the publication of the names of plot owners yet to pay their Certificate of Occupancy fees was generated from existing records, adding that individuals with proof of payment would be addressed accordingly.
Wike dismissed what he called detractors, saying that he would not allow it to make him lose focus on achieving his mandate.
According to him, complaints have come to be part of governance, adding that it is unrealistic to expect to satisfy everyone.
“These complaints will not deter us from our mission. We are committed to fulfilling our responsibilities and achieving the best possible outcomes for most of our residents.”
The minister stressed the need to adhere to regulations and the inevitability of demolishing illegal structures if the need arises.
“Our focus remains on what is right and achieving the best possible results for the majority of our residents, not for a select few.”
Wike expressed gratitude for the year 2024 and optimism for a more prosperous year 2025, even as he called on the residents and business owners to continue supporting the administration’s efforts towards achieving greater development in the coming year.
“We are grateful for the blessings of 2024 and believe that 2025 holds even greater promise. We urge residents and business owners to continue supporting our efforts as we strive to exceed our accomplishments from the previous year.”

Dangote Refinery They Tried To Kill, By Prof Michael Ogueke

Dangote Refinery

The truth is, If Bola Tinubu were to be President of Nigeria in 2015, there wouldn’t have been any Dangote refinery today. They would have killed it at infancy.
How do I mean?
President Muhammadu Buhari stopped at nothing to ensure Dangote refinery was completed. Buhari mobilized immense funds, logistics, enabling business environment, generous waivers on tariffs and taxes for the refinery as well as favourable agreements with government and NNPC on the supply of enough crude in naira for the refinery to achieve full capacity production.
All these were done in preparation for the removal of subsidy so that when it was eventually removed, the cost of petrol will not exceed at least 500 naira a litre and thus make it bearable on Nigerians, as it will not cause to much economic upheaval and disruptions.
Unfortunately, the Tinubu government, with his family’s oil interests, oil marketer oligarchs that helped him to power; his foreign oil masters, and NNPC leeches sucking the life blood out of Nigeria felt threatened by the completed Dangote refinery. And they started all manners of calculated evil to kill an already completed multi-billion dollars refinery.
First, the Tinubu government reneged on the completion of payment for the acquisition of the remaining 20% federal government shares in the refinery which Buhari has already paid 5% with the remaining 20% spread over a period of time favourable to the Federal Government. Why? To deny Dangote refinery the much needed funds to kick-start and maintain production before they break even on their investment.
Two, the Tinubu government, with NNPC reneged on supplying Dangote with the agreed number of crude barrels a day and in naira which the Buhari government signed with him to make fuel affordable to Nigerians. This forced Dangote to start importing crude from America, Europe and Asia in dollars which shot up his production costs and eventually the cost of his fuel.
Next, NNPC announced that Dangote refinery fuel was substandard. Dangote invited experts and National Assembly Committee members who, after testing debunked their lies and affirmed that Dangote refinery fuel is the best.
Then, the government media hirelings immediately started sponsoring ugly narratives about Dangote – calling him a shylock and mean monopolist insensitive to the plight of Nigerians when in reality, it is the Tinubu government and NNPC that are messing up the lives of Nigerians.
Recently again, the government borrowed another 1.3 billion dollars through NNPC without the knowledge of Nigerians. When the clandestine borrowing was bursted, NNPC said they borrowed the money to help Dangote refinery with liquidity. Dangote immediately denied this in a public press statement that it’s a lie & that Dangote refinery have no liquidity problems.
There is nothing this government, NNPC and marketer oligarchs that helped this government to power did not do to kill Dangote refinery.
They even stopped buying from Dangote, saying his fuel is expensive when Dangote refused NNPC to be the sole buyer of his fuel and fixing whatever prices they like to satisfy their greed.
This forced Dangote to start sourcing for markets around the world for his fuel.
If Dangote isn’t a strong and resilient business man, this government and NNPC would have destroyed the monumental Dangote refinery that is the pride of Africa presently with their insatiable greed without a single thought for the suffering masses who Buhari they are working very hard today to tarnish his name did everything for to see the refinery completed
Is it not laughable therefore, that the dubious aides and shameless supporters of the Tinubu government are claiming credit for this administration for the recent recorded increase in export earnings — increased export earnings made possible by Dangote refinery’s exports which they wanted to kill in the first place.
Yes, a refinery Buhari pulled all the stops to see its completion for the betterment of Nigeria and Nigerians.
Is it not laughable that the shameless supporters of this Tinubu government are now using the value of dangote refinery their thieving government and NNPC wanted to destroy in their insatiable greed to now mock Niger republic in their stupid fight with Niger over the Nigerien military president’s weighty accusations against Tinubu
“Dangote Refinery $19b.
Niger Republic GDP $16.82b.”
The same Dangote refinery their government wanted to destroy. Yes, the same Dangote they called all sorts of unprintable names on social media.
Without any conscience and sense of shame, a man is truely lost and dead.

Ex-US President Jimmy Carter Dies at 100

Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States and a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, has passed away at the age of 100.

He died on Sunday at his home in Plains, Georgia, following years of battling melanoma skin cancer.

Carter, who was the longest-living US president in history, spent his final years in hospice care, surrounded by family.

“My father was a hero, not only to me but to everyone who believes in peace, human rights, and unselfish love,” said his son, James E. Carter III.

Born on October 1, 1924, in Plains, Carter graduated from a naval academy, served as a submarine engineer, and later entered politics, becoming Georgia’s governor in 1971.

As president from 1977 to 1981, Carter focused on easing Cold War tensions, signing the SALT II agreement with the Soviet Union.

In 2002, he was honored with the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts in peacebuilding and human rights advocacy.

Carter is survived by his wife, Rosalynn, children, and grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family.

Atiku Raises Eyebrow Over Use Of Illegal Firearms, Parade By “Illegal Military Cadets” In Honour Of Tinubu’s Son

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar

Former Nigeria’s Vice President and leader of the country’s opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has raised an eyebrow over the recent use of illegal firearms by “illegal military cadets” in honour of Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu.
In a statement today, December 29, Atiku demanded a thorough investigation into the incident, labelling it “a gross violation of military tradition.”
In the statement issued by his media adviser, Paul Ibe, Atiku expressed outrage over the event, calling it an aberration for any branch of the Armed Forces to organize a formal parade for a non-designated public figure.
“It is with utter dismay and concern that Nigerians were subjected to a nauseating video circulating online, where a group of young men, armed and in full military procession, bestowed upon the President’s son unwarranted military honours.”
Atiku questioned the legitimacy of the military-like outfit involved, saying that the so-called group: “Nigeria Cadet Network,” is not a recognized entity within the Nigerian Armed Forces.
He emphasized that the name “Cadet,” associated with young, formally trained military personnel, was exploited by civilians to tarnish the esteemed traditions of the military.
“In an effort to uncover the truth behind this shameless procession, we instructed our legal team and military experts to investigate the so-called ‘Nigeria Cadet Network.’ To no one’s surprise, it was revealed that the group is not a legally registered entity.
“What is even more alarming is the brazen use of firearms by civilians in this so-called parade — at a time when illegal arms proliferation is at a dangerous high in our country.”
Atiku therefore, called for an urgent investigation by all relevant security agencies to address the following critical concerns:
1. The legitimacy of the “Nigeria Cadet Network” and its use of the title “Cadet” when it is not a registered entity.
2. The origin and legality of the firearms displayed by members of the “Nigeria Cadet Network.”
3. The propriety of the military honours granted to the President’s son by non-commissioned civilians under the protection of security personnel.
The former Vice President stressed that preserving the integrity of the Nigerian Armed Forces is paramount, saying: “if it is determined that any legal violations were committed by the President’s son or members of the so-called ‘Nigeria Cadet Network,’ it is the constitutional duty of Nigerian security agencies to ensure that the law takes its course and those responsible are held accountable.”
