Presidency Describes News Of IPOB’s Plan Attack On Buhari In Japan As Fake

The Nigerian Presidency has described the newa making the rounds about planned attack on President Muhammadu Buhari by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) group in Japan as fake.

In a statement today, August 26, the special adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said that there was no such plan as the President arrived in Yokohama, Japan, without any problem.

“Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora are urged to disregard concocted stories, backed with spurious visuals, of any protest or harassment of the President and his team. It is the stock-in-trade of hate mongers, who do not realize that the rest of Nigerians have left them far behind.

“President Buhari will make his presence at the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7) count for Nigeria, and no scare-mongering or sabre-rattling will detract him from the outing.”

Nnamdi Kanu et al. And The Frankenstein Obsession In Us, Nigerians, By Sufuyan Ojeifo

The fictional monster created by Victor Frankenstein in Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel – “Frankenstein” – continues to enjoy a similitude in the subsisting human catharsis always released to address existential questions birthed through the intercourse of politics, economics, socialization, religion and culture in Nigeria.

Maladministration and inactions by leadership concerning critical day-to-day issues of life spawn diverse responses. The progressive mismanagement of public finance, with the ramifications of pervasive poverty, the widening gap between the rich and the poor largely accentuated by the liquidation of the middle class and falling standard of living, represents the elephant in the room.

The situation supra has produced a social ferment that continues to afflict us as a people. Given our massive natural resources, it is paradoxical that Nigeria is at a crossroads, unable to deploy her petro-dollars to define herself in the comity of prosperous and developed nations of the world. The world is, indeed, aghast that Nigeria has been unable to transform into a global economic force with the abundance of crude oil under her soil.

The sad narrative has been that of a rich nation of a poor people. The validation of a poverty-stricken people whose land has recently become the global poverty capital lies in the chilling facts and statistics that the wealth of Nigeria has been privatised by a cartel that continues to hold her by the jugular. It is the small tribe of these unconscionable leaders and their protégés that continue to corner the nation’s collective patrimony in furtherance of prebendal politics.

Our financial resources are wantonly mismanaged and wickedly diverted into private pockets. The privileged haves continue to assail the haves not with the vulgarity of ill-gotten wealth, thus provoking a sense of vengeance in some who are easily undercut and resort inevitably to self-help. They become denatured and manifest in bizarre ways in order to respond to existential issues of survival, longing and belonging in a society where Social Darwinism becomes the essential philosophy.

Such individuals who cannot afford, any longer, to harbor hope of a better life or a guaranteed future in their relative socio-economic and political conditions switch over to the extremely opposite side of “good,” largely untamed in the contemplation, consideration and manifestation of the bestial and revolting tendencies that inexorably become our collective pains. Remember Dr. Ishola Oyenusi, that gung-ho and first celebrity armed robber that once terrorized Lagos and its surrounding states?

Oyenusi did not create himself.  He was created by the society and turned out to become the society’s macabre sense of vengeance. Before he came to his terminus, he had ravaged the society in his sanguinary exploits and when he was to be executed, more than 30,000 Nigerians reportedly gathered around the execution venue. That spectacle-the shaming of Oyenusi-did not upend the predisposition by others to the absurdity of the Oyenusi public execution. Right after his execution, his second-in-command, Isiaka Busari, better known as Mighty Joe, took over and became the de facto king of the underworld.

Oyenusi’s exploits became the stuff for Nollywood producers who have done well by raking in multi-million naira in box-office from films that either captured or recreated his dare devilry. The same society created Mighty Joe. It created Shina Rambo, a former armed robber that terrorised Southwest Nigeria in the 1990s. The society created Lawrence Nomanyagbon Anini who terrorised Benin City in the 1980s along with his friend Monday Osunbor who were both captured and executed for their crimes.

Those were a few examples of the criminal elements that the comparative Nigeria’s economic conditions created. What of the few that have been created by a combination of desperate politics and manipulative religious bigotry? Remember Mohammed Yusuf, the leader of Boko Haram that was killed in 2009 before the mythical Abubakar Shekau assumed the leadership role? The story is that the desperate politics of entrenchment of vested interests and the lack of fidelity to original promises made in the conclave of Borno State birthed the Boko Haram insurgency.

A motley group of young men armed by some desperate politicians, became monsters and unleashed their monstrosity on the nation for settlement of political scores, which action they later, out of the political exigency of the time, refocused and rechristened as a battle against western education. It was such a nebulous philosophy, but thousands had since died in their terrorist activities of bombing places of worship and public buildings, among others. They have since been locked in a supremacy battle by the Nigerian troops for annexation of Nigerian territories. The Nigerian society created these monsters.

Remember Mohammed Marwa who died in 1980? Nicknamed Maitatsine, he was a controversial preacher in Nigeria whose nickname means “the one who damns”. He was reputed for his curse-laden speeches against the Nigerian state.  His followers were Yan Tatsine who continued to riot into the early 1980s despite that their leader had died in 1980. According to a report, the Boko Haram is viewed as an extension of the Maitatsine group.

Before Boko Haram were the Niger Delta militants. Unlike the criminals in the south and Boko Haram terrorists, they were non-sanguinary. But what they did by blowing up pipelines and draining the nation of her economic lifeline was killing Nigeria and Nigerians by the installments in the absence of the political will to diversify the economic base. The late President Umaru Yar’Adua produced the solution to the conflagration in the Niger Delta through the instrumentality of the Amnesty Progamme for the militants. The society created the militants and their agitations and the society has pacified and mitigated their destructive tendencies.

The leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), an Indian- trained lawyer, Ralph Uwazuruike, was created by the society. Piqued by the structural imbalance in the Nigerian federation, the movement that is associated with Igbo nationalism, agitated for the recreation of an independent state of Biafra (a throwback to Odumegwu Ojukwu-motivated Nigeria-Biafra civil war).  Uwazuruike said MASSOB was a peaceful group and had advertised a 25-stage plan to achieve its goal peacefully. Recall that Uwazuruike had been arrested on several occasions and charged with treason. The intervention by Igbo leaders, coupled with Uwazuruike’s sense of appreciation that there are peaceful ways this goal could be achieved had since moderated his agitation.

But the enfant terrible, Nnamdi Kanu, who promotes the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPoB) continues to dance to the rhythm of his soul in complete dissonance with the peaceful strategy by Ndigbo for the actualization of their overarching objective of equity and equality in the reconstruction and recalibration of Nigeria’s federal structure. It is not clear if he is a creation of this society, especially given his recent directive that his members should physically assault former Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekwermadu in Nuremberg, Germany, at an Igbo annual Yam festival. He has placed prize-money on some Igbo leaders who dare to travel outside the country on official assignments.

His self-acclamation as a Judaist and protégé of the State of Israel question both his patriotism to Nigeria and ethnic nationalism. That he could issue a “fatwa” on Ekweremadu, who alongside Eyinnaya Abaribe, was largely instrumental to his bail, was indicative of his disruptive tendencies and the delusion of grandeur that propels him to approximate himself as the new drum major of Igbo ethnic nationalism. But then, until IPoB was rightly or wrongly proscribed and categorised as a terrorist group, many Igbo leaders had tacitly endorsed Kanu’s style since it unsettled the powers-that-be in Abuja. Little did they know that they were encouraging a disruptive monster.

The lesson for us all: stop creating conditions that produce monsters; stop encouraging monsters in furtherance of vested interests; the federal government should be responsive to national concerns and pockets of agitations before they snowball into conflagrations; it should act proactively and even reactively to emplace measures that countervail the predilection for disruptive agitations. Even where our society has not created a monster, it behoves government to deal with or tame it in the overall interest of the nation.

CBN Cautions Nigerians Against Falling Prey To Scammers About Loans

Isaac Okorafor, CBN Spokesman

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has cautioned Nigerians against falling prey to unscrupulous people linking the bank to fake loan offers to interested people in the country.

“While the CBN, indeed, has several development finance intervention programmes from which different categories of businesses have benefitted and are still benefiting, the Bank DOES NOT do so through direct interaction with prospective applicants.”

A statement from the Corporate Communications Department of the apex bank lamented what it called “fraudulent messages” in the social media circles requesting unsuspecting loan seekers and owners of small-scale businesses to apply for loans provided by the Federal Government through an e-mail address (empowermentcbnloan@gmail.com) purportedly being handled by the CBN.

“For the avoidance of doubt, there are clearly spelt out procedures for accessing CBN intervention funds, which are disbursed through Participating Financial Institutions (PFIs), such as Deposit Money Banks (DMBs), Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) and Microfinance Banks (MFBs).”

The bank advised members of the public, particularly youth and owners of small-scale businesses, to disregard any message requesting them to send their personal details, including mobile phone numbers, to emails such as empowermentcbnloan@gmail.com or any other one that may be contrived.

“These messages are fake and anyone who enters into correspondence with them does so at his or her own risk.

“Prospective applicants are advised to approach their respective banks or the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) branch nearest to them for clarification on the procedure for accessing any of the CBN-related loans.”

Court Okays Indirect Governorship Primary For Kogi APC

A Federal High Court in Abuja has affirmed the decision of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to conduct indirect primary for the forthcoming governorship election in Kogi State.

Justice Taiwo Taiwo approved the party’s choice today, August 26 and dismissed two suits filed by some APC members in Kogi, challenging the party’s choice of mode of primary to be adopted for selecting a candidate for November 16 poll.

The first suit prayed the court to determine the true leaders of the party from the two sets of members of the party in the state, claiming entitlement to its leadership.

In the second suit, some party members challenged the decision of the APC’s National Working Committee (NWC) to adopt an indirect primary in choosing its candidate for the election.

The plaintiffs were of the view that the choice of the mode to be adopted for primary election cannot be determined while the leadership in the state chapter of the party was under question, with the pendency of the suit.

In his ruling, Justice Taiwo dismissed the first suit for being statute barred on the grounds that it was not heard within the 180 days stipulated under Section285(10) of the Constitution.

He added that since the second suit was predicated on the first suit which had been dismissed, it was unnecessary determining issues raised in the suit on the grounds that they have become academic.‎

Airplane, Helicopter Collide In Air, Killing 7 In Spain

A sightseeing helicopter and a small airplane collided mid air today, August 25, on the Spanish island of Mallorca, killing seven.

Report said that the two crafts crashed over the city of Inca on the popular tourist island, with five of the victims — including the children — killed in the chopper and the other two in the airplane.

Authorities said that the airplane passengers were locals but haven’t officially identified any victims or the nationalities of the other three killed.

At least one of the helicopter victims was Italian, according to Spanish news agency Europa Press.

Photos of the wreckage, which officials said landed near a farm not far from Inca Hospital, showed a tail section on a local road and a twisted hunk of metal on fire in a garden.

Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez called it a tragic accident on Sunday and offered the families of the victims “solidarity and sympathies.”

Danger In Under-Rating Boko Haram’s Incursion Into Gubio, Magumeri – Open Letter To Buhari

An elder statesman and holder of traditional title of  Zanna Boguma of Borno, Alhaji Zanna Hassan Boguma has sent an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari on the resurgence of the deadly activities of Boko Haram in two local governments of Borno State. The two local governments are Gubio and Magumeri.

Alhaji Zanna Hassan Boguma said that the letter is in response to the numerous social media comments on the last military statement denying the dare devil and daring attacks on Gubio and Magumeri local governments of Borno state.

He said that the attempt by Boko Haram to intimidate and attack communities in the state and the actions of the soldiers in the frontline has made the people in the area to lose confidence in the recent military’s performance in protecting not only the vulnerable citizens but even the territorial boundaries of the nation.

The letter, unedited, goes thus:

Dearest President,

I hope my letter reaches you in good health. My special regards to you and members of the esteemed first family and best wishes and a lot of appreciations for your fatherly attention to us people of Borno and the Northeast.

I wrote you this letter in response to the numerous social media comments on the last military statement denying the dare devil and daring attacks on Gubio and Magumeri local governments of Borno state. The attempts by BH to intimidate and attack communities in the state and the actions of our soldiers in the frontline has made us loose confidence in the recent military’s performance in protecting not only the vulnerable citizens but even the territorial boundaries of the nation.

Your Excellency, while lauding the efforts of the N /Army for their gallantry in other part of the state, much is needed to be done in areas around MMC and Jere and in recent attacks on Nganzai, Gajiganna, Gubio, Magumeri, Amurwa, Kalali Abdul, Wanori and yesterday, Dalori villages. The incessant and daring attacks by BHT is becoming a source of great concern to citizens living in the two local govts and five villages simultaneously attacked for three days without any counter measures or even a response to distress calls from the locals.

A country’s armed forces were suppose to be a proud and patriotic defenders of both the nation’s territories and it’s citizens, but our today’s men of the armed forces were either overwhelmed by the desire to amass wealth by all means and, on the bloods of the innocent Nigerian citizens, or have been compromised by theories of conspiracy and collaboration by deserting their formations in the face of attacks by the insurgents.

We’ve been hearing of successes recorded by battalions outside Maiduguri in their clearance operations while the BHT that were hibernating around the Alau general area and in the recent local governments of Gubio and Magumeri were allowed to have a field day without any rapid response from the military except for them to take to their heels leaving all hardwares to be carted away by the insurgents.

In most cases, they were not pursued rather, they  dare to attack and always allowed to go which smack only a mockery of our security. The Nigeria armed forces were rated to be the finest in Africa, but the present crop of the soldiers sent to the frontline were either not ready to fight or were compromised. One silly rumor in town was the stories of our men divided along parochial lines of tribe and religion which will not augur well for national security.

Your Excellency, may kindly wish to recall your exploits as an army commander. We living in Borno will never forget your patriotism and sense of duty by commandeering the reclaiming of our territories from Chad in the 80s against all odds. But from the happenings in Borno and elsewhere, the field commanders and their men in most cases have turned the theatre of war into a milking cow. Many have abdicated their responsibility as defenders of the citizens without confronting the terrorists.

I believe as done in all places, all new entrants in the armed forces were sworn to uphold the constitution and to protect the territorial integrity of the country, an oath of allegiance and promise to lay their arms in protecting both the civilians and the nation against any enemy domestic and foreign; however, in the Nigeria of today and as seen in the recent action of our men on the frontline, these principles were compromised.

Your Excellency, is not being told the truth about the situation on the theatre of war. You are either fed with false information, or raising hopes of technical defeat of the BH which is far from the truth. Agreed our armed forces were overstretched. Agreed their equipments were obsolete and their conditions were really not promising, but as a nation, they were trained to confront the worst of enemies than the rag tag, untrained in skills and professionally bankrupt miscreants who capitalize on their fear and weakness to daily wreck havoc on them and vulnerable citizens.

The recent systematic attacks on Gubio a strategic battalion and forcing them to withdraw is not only a shame but  a slap on the face of our armed forces and a smack  of mockery and abuse on the strength and professionalism of our armed forces which was once a formidable force in the Africa.

Patriotism being the hallmark of all military operations is near absent, in most cases men that were lacking in experiences of war tactics were posted a seeming guerrilla like operations. The special forces that would have dealt with the peculiarities of insurgency were not properly involved in the operation and munitions that could have been used were not on ground to confront the monster head on.

Your Excellency, one very potent war strategy is propaganda which has been effectively used by the enemies to send fears into the spine of our young and in experienced soldiers. This strategy would have been used by our officers to intimidate the enemy.

Instead of taking the offensive to the enemies, our men were confined to trenches waiting to be attacked. The continued reports of repels and foiling of attacks were never a war strategy that is intended to end. Sometimes those officers that have the zeal and passion for the profession were demoralized by their commanders and in most cases prevented from either pursuing the enemies or even in responding to intelligence information about the movements of the insurgents.

In counter insurgency operations, you don’t wait to be attacked rather you take the war to the enclaves and hide outs of the insurgents. In Syria and Iraq, the military used the strategy of offensive warfare to both technically defeat and degraded the ISIS insurgency in their country. Not only that, the militia were effectively used to achieve success in the operation to capture their territories and send the insurgents running.

Also, one of the disheartening and most demeaning aspect of the war is that, the Chadian, Cameroonian and Nigerien armed force seem to be more professional and determined in the operation. Their courageous pursuit of the enemies in the Lake Chad has exposed our soldiers as cowards and unserious which has reduced their image of once the most fearsome and professional army.

Cases of desertion and abandonment of formations need to be thoroughly investigated. Cordon and search operations must be seriously intensified and punitive expeditions intensified. No matter the consequences, the infantry must come into the operation and with full air support if we truly want to end this challenge. The hunters who were the masters of the forest, the determined CJTF and our vigilantes should be brought into the fight if we really want to achieve success in the war. These if effectively implemented will greatly assist in countering the insurgency.

There are many questions to be asked in the face of the recent actions of the military in the operation. There is a seeming case of sabotage, collaboration and negligence seen in most of the recent attacks.

Former President Jonathan was accused of conspiracy and complacency. The then military was accused of sabotage and sellout, they were accused of using the insurgency to enrich themselves and from the look of things, history seems to be repeating itself if not the worst, similar to the one that had happened.

We in Borno and the North have high hopes when we elected this government, we saw in you hope of redemption from our national calamities knowing very well your patriotism and integrity. In the last four years, these hopes were translated into reality but with the recent upsurge in insurgent’s activity in Northern Borno and the actions of the military, we were left with no options than to despair.

Unfortunately for us, and with all sense of regrets and apologies, our sons who were suppose to feel our pains seem not helping. We had all it take to bemoan their silent and ineffective response to the plight of their state, region and people. The Chiefs of Army and Air force were both from the Northeast, the National Security Adviser, the Chief of Staff to the President and the SGF all were from the region yet, they remained mute and inactive.

As our leader and President, we in Borno and the Northeast will always remain indebted to you for identifying with us, for the concerns you have for our region and for the lofty intentions you have of transforming our region to greater heights. Your political will to end the insurgency, the drilling of oil in the Lake Chad, the recharging of the Lake Chad and many more which the insurgency has made it impossible is fresh in our memories. In terms of representation in government, you gave us all that it takes to make our region great. But, those entrusted have not only failed us, but have failed you in actualizing your objective of building a secured and prosperous nation.

I wish the authorities concerned will shelve all their personal or parochial interests and put the safety of the citizens and the nation first and re-strategize their operational methods in defeating the enemies of the nation. His Eminence the Shehu of Borno had told you about the current realities when you visited him in his palace. His Eminence has spoken the minds of all the people of Borno and by extension the Northeast when he told Mr. President, that the insurgents have virtually surrounded Borno not far away from the state capital to which nothing has been done until these realities were today being seen around us. His Excellency, our Governor too has severally seen you on the matter. Now is the time for Mr. President to personally interface with our community leaders to debrief him on vital intelligence and in real situations in Borno and the Northeast.

As did before, Mr. President should direct the Service Chiefs to relocate to Borno to finally operationalize the defeat of BH as was done in Syria and Iraq. The military should take the offensive position to deal with the problem. They don’t just wait for the enemy to strike. They should never allow the enemy to understand their fears and weaknesses”.

As I am writing this open letter to you, all military formations were withdrawn from all their strategic locations and this action has made our remaining communities more vulnerable to attacks by BH. This action has also emboldened confidence of the BH to daily attack and ransack communities that were unprotected due to the lack of military presence. Residents of Gubio and Magumeri local governments have also deserted the two strategic towns thus opening for the BH a clear course to descend on Maiduguri. Routes from Maiduguri to Damasak, Maiduguri to Monguno and Maiduguri to Konduga and Bama were all made vulnerable with this withdrawal.

This letter does not intend to put our men of the armed force to disrepute, nor the institution as incapable, rather, we felt as citizens to plead for more viable approach to the fight against the insurgency and put to an end the lingering insecurity bedeviling our nation. As a patriotic and professional institution in which Mr. President has once served, the military is seen as our hope for peace and stability in the country and Mr. President as the Commander in Chief, need to know that we are concerned and worried. Let our despair be turned into optimism and let us be patriotic to our nation and protect our country’s image and integrity.

Mr. President may kindly accept the assurances of our highest regards and love while praying to the Almighty to protect you against all and a special prayer for our men of the armed force for victory and protection.

Yours,

Zanna Hassan Boguma

(Zanna Boguma of Borno).

Ongoing Recruitment: Civil Defence Warns Applicants Not To Give  Money To Anyone

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has warned prospective applicants not to give out money to anyone with the aim of securing employment in its ongoing recruitment exercise across the country.

in a statement today, August 24, the Media Assistant to the Commandant General, Ekunola Gbenga, made it clear that the recruitment exercise is free of any charge from prospective applicants, stressing that it is completely “free of charge” and is being executed in an equitable and transparent manner.
The Corps said that it beaming its search light on the perpetrators of the illegal activities, saying that information reaching the NSCDC indicated that some unscrupulous individuals are extorting money from unsuspecting applicants/candidates under the false impression that they can guarantee their eventual recruitment into the Service.
“No applicant is required to make any payments to any individuals or bank accounts at any time during the recruitment process.”

Federal, State, Local Governments Owe NNPC N797 Billion – NEITI

The federal, state and local governments are believed to be indebted tothe Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to the tune of N797 billion.

In a 136-page report by the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), the debts might not be unconnected with the expenses incurred as subsidy (on fuel importation) in the period under review but which was not paid by government.

The report, titled: “Pilot Study on Commodity Trading for 2017,” focuses exclusively and extensively on the sale of Nigeria’s share of crude oil and gas produced in 2017.

The report, which gave a breakdown and analysis of oil and gas production in 2017, also disaggregated the federation’s share of production by types, allocation, uses, details of the revenues derived from the sales, the receiving accounts, and allocation of revenues.

Details of the report made available by NEITI spokesman, Orji Ogbonnaya Orji, showed that total revenue from sale of the federation’s share of oil and gas for 2017 was $14.5 billion of which $13.18 billion or 90.8% was from crude oil while $1.32 billion or 9.1% was earned from gas.

A further breakdown of key findings in the report shows that out of the 240.9 million barrels of production that went to the federation as its share of oil produced for 2017, Domestic Crude Allocation (the crude assigned for local supply of refined products) was 105. 9 million barrels or 44% of the share.

FIRS Liftings was 57.3 million barrels or 24% of federation share; Federation Export was 50. 2 million barrels or 21% of federation share; Third Party Financing 17.6 million or 7% of federation share while DPR liftings was 9.9 million barrels or 4% of federation share.

But the report found that NNPC deducted N297 billion from earnings from the Domestic Crude Allocation (the crude assigned for local supply of refined products) as costs and losses for under-recovery on petroleum products (N141.6 billion), N25 billion for crude and product losses; and N130.4 billion for pipeline repairs and maintenance.

It further found, however, that the sum of N77.92 billion was under-remitted by NNPC to the Federation Account from Domestic Crude Allocation in 2017.

NEITI said in the report that “NNPC acknowledged the under-remittance and stated that there is an ongoing reconciliation to net off the N77.92 billion from “the established federation indebtedness to the corporation of N797bn arising from KPMG Forensic audit of the corporation at the instance of the federation.”

This is not the first time the corporation has claimed of being owed by the federation.

NNPC has since 2017 being the sole importer of PMS in the country.

Immediate past GMD of NNPC, Maikanti Baru had in January 2018 when he appeared before the Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream) investigating the subsidy regime, said the corporation incurred N5.1 trillion as subsidy between 2006 and 2015 but that only N4.9 trillion was paid to it.

“NNPC incurred N5.1tr as subsidy as approved by the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), but only N4.9tr was paid. The NNPC is being owed N170.6bn by the federation,” Baru had said.

Ebonyi Governor Describes Activities Of IPOB As Last Kick Of Dying Horse

Gov. Umahi of Ebonyi state

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi has condemned the rising activities of miscreants suspected to be members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), describing such activities as the last kick of dying horse.

The governor expressed deep concern that the group had now resorted to circulating all kinds of cheap lies and blackmails against him and his government, explaining that the miscreants have taken over social media where they dish out all kinds of unfounded lies in form of write-ups, audio and video recordings against him and his government.

In a statement today, August 24 in Abakaliki by his Special Assistant on Social Media, Emmanuel Igwe, the governor said that in as much as he cannot dignify the miscreants by joining issues with them, it has become pertinent to let the public know their new antics so they can be wary of them.

He said that having now realized that their fraudulent activities in the name of IPOB have been exposed, they have now gone crazy with all sorts of dangerous activities.

“I warned the group to desist from character assassination and blackmails against me and my Government or they will regret their actions.”

Governor Umahi warned “the unscrupulous elements indulging in the act to bear in mind that the cybercrime prohibition Act of 2015 is still in force, and that anybody caught must face the full weight of the law.”

He called on the general public to keep away from the miscreants and their activities as security agencies have been detailed to clamp down on them, even as he assured the people that his administration would continue to protect them from killer herdsmen and tackle other insecurity problems.
