Boko Haram Recaptures Bosso Town In Republic Of Niger

The Mayor of Bosso, a town in southeastern Niger Republic, has lamented that Boko Haram has over-ran and retook it after overnight clashes with soldiers from Niger and Nigeria.

Boko Haram insurgents were said to have first took the town near the Nigerian border on Friday in an attack in which 30 soldiers from Niger and two from Nigeria were killed.

Nigerien troops had retaken the town by Saturday morning, the defense ministry said. [myad]
