President Muhammadu Buhari has described the former national chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, as political leader and elder statesman of Nigeria.
In a congratulatory message to Tukur as he clocks 80 tomorrow, Tuesday, President Buhari said that he is one of Nigeria’s foremost entrepreneurs, political leaders and elder statesmen.
The President said that Tukur will be marking his 80th birthday with another notable milestone in a very worthy and fulfilled life, even as he rejoiced with the former PDP boss
The President said that the nation owes Tukur, who holds the traditional title of Tafidan Adamawa gratitude for his significant contributions to Nigeria’s political and socio-economic development over many years.
President Buhari particularly commends Alhaji Tukur’s diligent and patriotic service to his community, state and country as a public servant, political leader and accomplished businessman of international repute.
The President also extols the exemplary political maturity and commitment to national peace and development displayed by the former National Chairman of PDP in being one of the first to congratulate him after his victory in the March 28th presidential elections.
He prayed to Allah to continue to bless Tukur with many more years of good health and the company of his loving family and numerous friends within and outside Nigeria. [myad]
