A young man named Jacob Samuel has admitted before the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja that he is a fake pastor and got jailed six months or with an option of N50, 000.
Jacob Samuel, who pleaded guilty to the charge brought against him, was charged to court by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abuja Zonal Office.
Samuel admitted that he falsely presented himself as a genuine priest or spiritualist and induced one Rebecca into delivering to him the sum of N103, 000 (One Hundred and Three Thousand Naira).
Based on his plea, the prosecution asked the court to convict him accordingly. But his counsel, M.K Agbontien urged the court to temper justice with mercy as the defendant was a first-time offender and had returned the proceeds of crime.
The court, presided over by Justice J.O. Onwuegbuzie, convicted the defendant and sentenced him to six months imprisonment (Fifty Thousand Naira) fine.
