EFCC Arrests 25 BUK Students For Alleged Internet Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested no fewer than 25 students of Bayero University Kano (BUK) for alleged internet fraud.
A statement by the commission said that the students were arrested opposite BUK new site, following actionable intelligence on their suspected involvement in cybercrime activities.
The statement said that all suspects apprehended are undergraduate students of Bayero University Kano (BUK).
It said that items recovered during the operation include, mobile phones, laptops, internet routers and one Honda Accord car.
The statement gave the names of suspects as Ismaíl Nura, Suuleyman Ayeh, Usman Abdulrazaq, Emmanuel Chigozie, Akabe Seth, Daniel Imoter, Abdulganiyu Jimoh, Jafar Abubakar, Usman Nuraddeen, Mohammad Adnan, Abubakar Abusufyan, Abdulmalik Ibrahim, Abubakar Sadiq, Daniel Masamu, Abdulrasheed Abdulsamad, Issac Dosunu, Nuraddeen Ogunbiyi, Onyeyemi Kaleem, Miracle Joseph, Danjuma Musa, Ibrahim Mubaraq, Yusuf Salihu, Lawal Ibrahim Edebo, Abdulmajeed Suleiman and Dauda Abdulhamid.
It said that they were arrested following weeks of surveillance linked to their alleged involvement in internet fraud, identity theft, and financial scam
It said that the suspects would be charged to court after the investigations are concluded.
