The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has removed 74 political parties from its deregister.
The Commission’s Chairman, Professor Mahmoud Yakubu today, February 6 at a press conference in Abuja.
Giving reasons for the decision, Yakubu said the deregistered parties failed to meet various criteria stipulated by the constitution during the elections.
The INEC chairman said the number of Nigeria’s political parties are now 18.
