INEC Requests Disciplinary Action Against Adamawa REC For “Unwholesome Behaviour”

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has requested the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) to take further disciplinary action against the Adamawa Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Barrister Hudu Yunusa Ari over what it called “unwholesome behaviour.”
Rising from a meeting today, April 18, at its Headquarters in Abuja, INEC also recommends to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to arrest and prosecute the REC.
The electoral umpire said that the topic discussed at the meeting was mainly on the controversial Governorship election in Adamawa, saying that collation of the result which was suspended following the REC’s announcement at the time the results were not complete, will resume at a time to be determined by the Returning Officer.
