Leader of the outlawed Indegenuos People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has been arrested with the help of International Police (Interpol), and already in Nigeria for prosecution.
The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, who announced the arrest to newsmen today, June 29, confirmed that Kanu was arrested and brought back to Nigeria on Sunday, June 27.
He said that the arrest followed a collaborative effort between security agencies in Nigeria and the Interpol.
Malami said that Kanu would be taken before the Federal High Court in Abuja for continuation of his trial on charges bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony, unlawful possession of firearms and management of an unlawful society.
