Security personnel were believed to have denied the former First Lady, Patience Jonathan the use of the Port Harcourt Airport VIP lounge as she arrived at the airport to travel out of the state.
Mrs. Jonathan was on her way to the burial of her late Chief Security Officer (CSO), Tamuno Jacob Igbomie, a Deputy Superintendent of Police.
It was gathered that Patience Jonathan was told by those on duty that she would not use the facility even as efforts by her personal aides to pacify security agents and aviation staff at the airport were rebuffed as they insisted she could not access the lounge.
It was gathered that the same drama played out when the former first lady returned to the airport after attending the burial.
The deceased former CSO to Patience Jonathan was shot dead by unknown assailants about three weeks ago. Igbomie’s corpse was found in his Honda Accord car along Airport Road, Abuja with all his phones, wallet and other personal effects in the car untouched. [myad]
