Outgoing FCT Minister Did Not Flow With Tide Blindly – Permanent Secretary

The Permanent Secretary in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Administration Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa, has described the outgoing Minister of the Territory, Muhammad Musa Bello as a man of deep convictions who not only led by example but often took the moral high road instead flowing with the tide.

“His convictions never wavered, no matter the amount of pressure. With him, right was right, wrong was wrong. Black is black, white is white. There were no shades of grey.”

The Permanent Secretary, who formally took over from Musa Bello to end his tenure as minister, commended his (Musa Bello) for choosing to complete projects initiated by his predecessors while initiating others and completing them within his tenure.

He mentioned the light rail project and various road projects as examples even as he also acknowledged the minister’s anti-corruption stance which bred trust and integrity in government business.

The Joint Union Action Congress (JUAC) which is the umbrella body of the labour unions in the FCTA presented an award of merit to the outgoing minister, saying that it is the first time such an award would be presented by the union to any minister of the FCT.

Also presenting an award to the minister was the Chairperson of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution, Professor Zainab Duke who said that only a select few world leaders were recipients of the award of merit.

He added that Musa Bello well deserved the award, based on his achievements as minister of the FCT.
