Commissioner for Special Duties in Kano State and close political ally of former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, in the person of Idris Dambazau has parted way with Kwankwasiyya, a political movement formed by the former governor.

Idris Dambazau, who defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) today, Monday, said at a rally to welcome him to the APC, that former Governor Kwankwaso had been displaying “autocracy, high-handedness and undermining all the Kwankwasiyya achievements.”

The former PDP chieftain indicated that his decision to switch to APC and support Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje was borne out of his protest over the choice of Kwankwaso’s in-law, Abba Yusuf, as the PDP governorship candidate in the state.

Idris Dambazau, who appeared at the rally in red cap, later surrendered the cap to be burnt by the governor.
