Nigeria Now Has 91 Political Parties As INEC Registers 23 More

Nigeria now has 91 registered political parties, with the registration of 23 more parties by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The commission, in a notice today, Tuesday, asked chairmen and secretaries of the newly registered parties to pick up their certificates at its headquarters in Abuja on Thursday.

This was even as INEC also extended the ongoing continuous voter registration (CVR) exercise by two weeks.

The commission had said it would suspend the exercise on August 17 until after the 2019 general election.
