The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has pleaded with his supporters to stop making derogatory remarks on other Presidential candidate in the name of defending him and that they should rather allow him to respond to such Presidential candidates.
In a tweet today, July 25, Peter Obi begged the supporters to allow him to respond rather than they responding for him, asking them to concentrate on issues that will promote the cause of moving the nation from consumption to production, create jobs, and generally evolve a better Nigeria.
“I most sincerely appreciate all my supporters and those of LP. I love you all. I wish to appeal to you to allow me to personally respond to any CANDIDATE that makes comments about me, while you concentrate on issues to promote our cause of moving our dear Nigeria from consumption to production, create jobs, and generally evolve a better Nigeria,” he tweeted.
In recent time, Obi’s supporters had always torn-apart any presidential candidate who dared to attack him, using abusive, gutter language and unrefined comments.
They tore the PDP’s Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar after his interview on Arise TV where he said it would take a miracle for Obi to win the presidency.
Atiku had said that about 90 percent of northerners are not on social media and that they formed the bulk of the electorate.
In response, Obi’s supporters called Atiku names and abused.
This is not the first time the LP’s presidential candidate is appealing to his supporters over their unruly behaviour and misdemeanour.
He had told them to stop abusing people sometimes ago but they will not listen.
