President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Mr. Patrick Ziakede Akpobolokemi.
A statement by the special adviser to the President on media and publicity, Femi Adesina said that the sacking of Mr. Akpobolokemi’s is with immediate effect.
There was no reason for his sacking, but he was directed to hand over the management of NIMASA and all government property in his possession to the most senior officer in the agency who will remain in charge until a new Director-General is appointed. [myad]
