The southeast governors forum has distanced themselves from the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) and proscribed the activities of the group in all the states in the region.
The forum called President Muhammadu Buhari to withdraw the military from the region.
These points emanated from a communique which was read by the Chairman of the Southeast Governors Forum and governor of Ebonyi state, Governor Dave Umahi, after the meeting of the forum, which was held today, Friday at Enugu State government House.
The meeting was attended by Governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu; Dave Umahi of Ebonyi; Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia and Willie Obiano of Anambra as well as Deputy Governor of Imo state, Eze Madumere.
Others at the meeting were the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief John Nnia Nwodo; Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and the General Officer Commanding 82 Division, Enugu, Generalk Adamu Abubakar.[myad]
