Truck Load Of Presidential Relief Materials Missing On Transit To Taraba IDPs

Relief materials for IDPs

One of the 20 truckloads of relief materials sent to Taraba State for distribution to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), by President Muhamadu Buhari has been declared missing.

The permanent secretary, Taraba state Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Nuvalga Dan-Habu said the materials never arrived the supposed destination.

Dan-Habu made this disclosure while conducting newsmen round the venue where the relief materials were stored in Jalingo, Taraba state capital.

He said that a few weeks ago, he received a phone call from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), North East zonal office Gombe, that twenty trucks of relieve materials, made up of maize, have been dispatched by President Buhari for IDPs in Taraba state and the materials were on the way from Abuja to Taraba state.

He said that the NEMA zonal office directed that the Taraba state Emergency Agency took the stock of the materials before distribution to the IDPs, but that instead of the twenty trucks as directed and informed by the Gombe zonal office of NEMA, only nineteen  trucks of the materials arrived in Jalingo.
