Wike’s Sack: Security Personnel Take Over Port Harcourt

Security is reported to have been stepped up in Port Harcourt, capital of Rivers states yesterday, shortly after the governorship election  tribunal sacked  the state governor under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Nyeso Wike.
Report reaching us indicated that the state police command has redeployed its personnel to strategic locations in and around the state capital to forestall any form of violence.
The command’s spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, an ASP, said however that all is calm in the state, adding: “We have not recorded any incidents and the state is calm. Police is on top of the situation.” [myad]
