When Stupidity Knows No Bound, By Ibrahim Lawal

Jega
I read a funny news item first from Akintunde Bello Sherrif’s wall and later posted in Vanguard online news about two Electoral Officers allegedly suspended for allegedly trying to rig in favour of the APC in the last gubernatorial election which Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola won convincingly and overwhelming despite harassment and intimidation of APC members and supporters.
Immediately I saw the news item, my first point of call was the INEC website to confirm the story but non was found. I beamed my searchlight on all other news sources because I am sure this should be a front page news for all the newspapers. Mum was the result.
It was then I looked at the reason given for the suspension of the two EO’s and I concluded that indeed, foolishness has been taken to the next level by these PDP scaliwaggs to claim what does not belong to them.
I remembered quite well that the distribution of sensitive and non sensitive materials were done by INEC to all Local Governments, in the presence of the representatives of all political parties. The same electoral materials were accompanied by all the political parties and the PDP controlled Federal Government security agents to all the polling agents, not to talk of the vigil embarked upon by the representatives of all political parties on the eve of election in different RACs that the electoral materials were kept for distribution on the day of election.
Not only that the serial numbers of all the ballot papers were given to all the representatives of political parties, each ballot paper going to various local government was colour coded. Each ballot paper was also customized to each polling unit making it impossible for any ballot paper to be used any how.
The original result sheet is one per polling unit customized to each polling unit making it impossible for manipulation.
When they raised the issue of buying ballot papers, the question is, is it to stuff ballot box or what? Was there any allegation of violence in Osogbo and Obokun where Diran Odeyemi comes from? Was there also allegation of ballot stuffing in any polling unit in Osogbo and Obokun Local Government?
The mere mention of Obokun Local Government Electoral Officer reminds me of the arrest of the EO on the Eve of the election by the APC party faithfuls for diverting electoral materials to the home of Chief Fadahunsi, a PDP stalwart.
The EO was arrested and taken to the police headquarters only for INEC and some PDP cyberdogs coming to defend the same man. Is it the same EO that was arrested and disgraced by APC members that would now connive with the same party to rig election?.
This medicine after death syndicated news item do not find favour with God and the good citizen of the state of Osun who spoke through their vote on the 9th of August to continue with what is right in the sight of God against the shenanigans of those who want the state to be thrown back to the dark ages.
This important decision cannot be taking without a statement from INEC. The person authorized to speak for INEC, till date, has not said anything. This is nothing but a display of illogicalities by the Tesojues of this world.
My advise to them is to find something useful to do with their time as this particular God ordained victory for Ogbeni is beyond them to reverse. [myad]
