The fourth edition of the African Nations Championship, the biennial international football championship has been scheduled to kick off in Rwanda on Saturday.
The tournament is being organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for players in local national leagues. This year’s competition will begin on January 16 and end February 7, it will feature 16 teams.
Rwanda qualified automatically as hosts, while the remaining 15 spots were determined by the qualifying rounds, which took place from June to October 2015.
Defending champions, Libya, did not qualify.
The opening match will feature Group A teams, as Rwanda takes on Cote d’Ivoire and Gabon plays against Morocco.
