Nigeria Marks Birthday Of Prophet Muhammad, Declares Friday Public Holiday

muslim2Nigeria Federal Government has declared Friday, January 2 public holiday to mark Eid El Maulud, the birthday of the Prophet of Islam, Prophet Muhammad.
This was made known today in a statement in Abuja by the minister of Interior, Abba Moro.
The terse statement which was signed by the permanent secretary in the ministry, Engineer Magaji Abubakar, quoted Moro as advising Muslims in particular, and Nigerians in general to pray for the peace and unity of the country.
The minister called on Nigerians to engage in violent-free activities as the nation goes into general elections in 2015.
He asked for support for President Goodluck Jonathan’s Transformation Agenda to move Nigeria to the next level of development.
Moro wished all Muslims and Nigerians a very peaceful celebration.
