A None Governmental Organization (NGO), Azza In Da’awa Foundation (ADF) has raised the hopes of orphans and indigent pupils in six primary schools spread across Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The NGO, today, September 24, flagged off the distribution of 120 dozens of branded exercise books at the Pilot primary school in Kuje, with the Local Education Authority leadership around to receive the books for the pupils.
Speaking at the presentation, Chairman of the Azza In Da’awa Foundation, Alhaji Zaik Mohammed Eshi said that the Foundation is out to support the education of the less privilage by investing in their future.
He confirmed that the Foundation is offering 120 dozens of forty-leaves exercise books, making 1,440 pieces of the books.
“In this pilot take-off, six Central Primary Schools are captured, namely: CPS Anguwan Gade, Kayarda, UBE Pasali, Chibiri, Kiyi and Chukuku, with a selection of forty (40) orphans and indigent pupils as beneficiaries in each school, giving a total number of 240 pupils in all, with each getting a token of Six ADF Exercise Books to augment for their notebooks.”
“Therefore, these books may look ordinary, but the opportunity they represent is extraordinary.
According to him, education is one of the greatest investments that any society can make in its children even as he solicited the support of the general public to continue to execute its mandate.
“We therefore, use this opportunity to appeal to individuals, philanthropists, corporate organizations, government agencies, community leaders, religious organizations and all people of goodwill to partner with Azza in Da’wah Foundation to provide succour to the vulnerable members of society.Your donations can provide exercise books. Your contributions can provide school uniforms.Your support can pay school fees. Your generosity can provide scholarships. Your assistance can feed an orphan and, most importantly, your support can change the direction of a child’s life for the better.
“Therefore, let’s remember that sometimes the greatest charity is not the one that makes the biggest noise, but the one that quietly changes a person’s life for the future.
Receiving the books, the Secretary of the Kuje Area Council LEA, Alhaji Yunusa Zakari Kabi, represented by Alhaji Mohammed Abdulmumuni thanked Azza In Da’awa Foundation for rising to the challenge of assisting the less privilage pupils in the pursuit of education.
He confirmed that many parents are so poor that they cannot afford to buy as little as books for their children, much more to pay school fees and sewing of uniform.
He appealed to similar bodies in the FCT to emulate the Azza In Da’awa Foundation by providing learning facilities to very poor pupils, to prevent out-of-school situation in the educational system of the FCT.
