He insisted that the elections of February 23 were credible and fair, saying that the barrage of accolades coming from foreign observers and international communities had lent credence to the credibility of the poll.

“Even during the era of the late President Umaru Yar’Adua, who was a member of PDP, he publicly acknowledged that the election that brought him in was fraught with irregularities.

“So, how can Atiku tell us now that the last presidential election was the worst in Nigeria? Except Atiku and his party have other evidences. Let them bring it out and show it to the public.

“We must give kudos to INEC in spite of the pockets of violence. Because there must be human errors, that does not mean that we should score INEC low.

“For me, I think they have tried their best to give us this election. INEC has been transparent enough.”

Atiku Was Never A Match To Buhari, Anambra Gov, Obiano Opens Up

Governor Willie Obiano

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has made it clear that at no time he ever thought that the Presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar was a match to President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the contest for the Presidency.

Governor Obiano, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary,  James Eze, in a statement today, Saturday, said that he knew that it President Buhari would easily win the election for his second term in office till 2023.

According to the governor, he had never hidden his feelings to his close friends and allies that the opposition did not stand a chance against the president, adding that in a federation that has developed a thick skin for fairness, equity and justice, it is wiser to be subtle than confrontational.

He warned his kit and kins, the Ndigbo against what he called ‘stumbling twice’ over the same stone, adding that they did not seem to understand him, “though most of them have been in politics long before him, but foresight is a gift that is not available to everyone.

“And now that the chickens have come home to roost, it has become clear to Governor Obiano that foresight comes at a price. Foresight is a lonely path to tread. It breeds unexpected resentment and hate. Having foresight could turn you into a sudden object of anger and unwise attacks.

“But on the long run, it never leaves you without the enduring sheen of grace and glory. And that happens only when the people finally wake up to smell the coffee.

“Sadly, in the case of many farsighted leaders, this happens after they are out of office or after they are gone!”
