My Wife Did Not Even Know She Killed Her Kids, Husband Of Kano Woman

Thirty nine year old Ibrahim Haruna Aminu, husband of the kano housewife who allegedly stabbed her biological children to death has said that the woman was ‘possessed’ because she did not even know that she killed the children.

“…on getting there, I met my wife and her mother in the room discussing. When I narrated what happened, her mother started crying while my wife was asking me what was happening?”

The housewife, Hauwa Habibu allegedly killed the children because her husband married a second wife. The deceased children were identified as a boy Yusuf, 5-, and girl Zahra’u, 3.
In an audio recording, the husband said that the suspect had called him in the morning at exactly 9:55am and told him that some people had come to kill her. When he asked who were the killers, she said they were two males and one female. When he sought to know where his children were, she told him it was the children who wanted to kill her.

“So, I urged her to intensify prayers because the previous night I sensed that her interactions were abnormal, as if she was somehow possessed as she was saying strange things. I promised to be with her when the rain stopped. Five minutes later she called again that the children wanted to speak with me. I spoke to all of them as they requested for some sweet which I asked her to give them.

Ibrahim narrated that when he got home after greeting his parents, he went straight to his apartment but was greeted with silence. He then used his key and unlocked the door, that was when he met the shock of his life, his children laying in a pool of their own blood.
The eldest child who survived the incident told him that their mother killed the two children with matchet and fled after she locked the door.
“So I quickly went to my parents and informed them, took the victims to the hospital while I rushed to my in-law’s place. On getting there I met my wife and her mother in the room discussing. When I narrated what happened, her mother started crying while my wife was asking me what was happening?”
When asked why he thought his wife did what she did, Ibrahim simply replied, “She is possessed. A normal woman would not just hack her own children to death for no reason.”
Asked if she had initially shown any tendency prior to the incidence, he replied, “Not at all. Only that a day before the incidence since when I went to give her money for food stuff she held my cloth and kept asking if I was okay, I asked why she was asking such questions, she said nothing, just that she is seeing things but she doesn’t know what they were. I then calmed her down and assured her I would come over the following morning since I was going to sleep at my second wife’s place.”

Why I Won’t Challenge Election Of Obaseki In Court, But… – Ize

Iyamu Governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Edo September 19 2020 election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has decided he would not be contesting his defeat in court.Ize-Iyamu lost the election to the incumbent Governor, Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement he personally signed today, October 5, Ize-Iyamu said that the decision not to contest the outcome was borne out of the desire not to further cause tension in the state.

He insisted however that the election was neither free nor fair contrary to reports. “There were unlawful cancellations of results, particularly from Urhonigbe South and North in Orhiomwon while results were falsified from many polling units in Ofunama in Ovia South West, and in parts of Ovia North East, Owan West, Oredo, Egor, Ikpoba-Okha, Esan North East, Esan West, Esan South East, and Uhunmwode Local Government Areas.”

He accused security agents of collusion, saying that they refused to intervene when “gun-wielding thugs took over collation centres in many locations.”

Ize-Iyamu said that there were also several cases of malfunctioning card readers, which disenfranchised duly registered voters in addition to many cases of unregistered voters voting with pre-purchased voters’ cards not collected by their actual owners.

He said that he would continue with two pre-election cases challenging Obaseki’s eligibility to partake in the election “just as our opponents have considered it their prerogative to also continue with their pre-election cases against us.”

Nwajuiba said that the picture of a Nigerian teacher in the 1960s and 1970s which connotes discipline needed to be replicated in today’s profession.
According to him, having a day to celebrate the teacher is just but a token gesture of recognition to the sacrificial contribution of teachers.
”In those days, very comfortable and important figures in the society would send their children to a teacher’s house for grooming. That was the teacher then.
”Teacher’s children and those that lived with them became the crème de la crème of the society. The society sadly have tilted towards ephemeral appearances that negates the standard of teachers as role models.
”We think this should stop. Teachers deserve recognition and respect. The first step is to have qualified teachers in practice.

European Premier League: Tottenham Disgraces ManU 6-1

Tottenham cashed in on Anthony Martial’s first-half red card to make mince meat of Manchester United 6-1 as Jose Mourinho enjoyed a dream return to Old Trafford on Sunday.

Son Heung-min and Harry Kane scored twice as Spurs opened up a disorganised United defence at will even before Martial was harshly punished for an off-the-ball clash with Erik Lamela.

Tanguy Ndombele and Serge Aurier were also on target for Tottenham, who showed no ill-effects of a draining week in their fourth match in eight days.

United’s worst home defeat since 2011 will turn the spotlight onto them ahead of the transfer deadline on Monday.

Uruguayan striker Edison Cavani is reportedly set to join the Red Devils, but it is at the other end of the field Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are in desperate need of reinforcements.

Mourinho, who was sacked as United boss in December 2018, has claimed his old club are too often the beneficiaries of dubious penalty decisions. But he could have no complaints when Davinson Sanchez upended Martial inside the area in the first minute.

Bruno Fernandes coolly slotted home the spot-kick to seemingly give the home side the perfect start.

However, within four minutes it was 1-1 as calamitous defending from Eric Bailly, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw presented Ndombele with the chance to sweep home an equaliser from close range.

Kane was the provider for all four of Son’s goals in a 5-2 win at Southampton two weeks ago and the two combined to perfection once more as Spurs took the lead three minutes later.

Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka were caught ball watching as Kane’s quickly taken free-kick was perfect for the South-Korean to race through and dink the ball over the advancing David De Gea.

The visitors could have had plenty more as a poor touch from Son denied him another one-on-one with De Gea before the Spaniard saved from Aurier.

Any chance of a United revival went with Martial as he was shown a straight red card for raising his hands to Lamela’s face in retaliation to an elbow from the Argentine, which went unpunished from VAR.

Even that decision, though, could not mask a disastrous performance from United, who gifted another goal away within two minutes of losing a man.

Kane intercepted Bailly’s attempt to play out from inside his own box and when the ball broke to Son, he unselfishly squared for Kane to slot into an unguarded net.

Son had been a major injury doubt after suffering a hamstring problem in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle, but he was full of energy as he burst into the box to flick his seventh goal of the season between De Gea’s legs.

Solskjaer introduced holding midfielders Scott McTominay and Fred at half-time in a bid to stem the tide, but United were cut open again when Paul Pogba failed to track Aurier’s run and he fired into the far corner from Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg’s perfect pass.

Pogba was at fault again for the sixth as he dived in on Ben Davies and Kane converted emphatically from the penalty spot.

A second straight home defeat to start the season drops United to just above the relegation zone in 16th, while Tottenham move up to fifth.

Police Brutality: Osinbajo Gives Inspector General Marching Order On Reform

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, has given the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu a marching order to carry out reforms that would change the ugly behavior of some officers.

The Vice President, who met with the police boss today, October 4, at the Presidential villa, Abuja, expressed his open anger over the arrests and brutal killing of young Nigerians by the Police.

Professor Osinbajo directed the IGP to ensure that police officers that were found culpable in the maiming and killing of young men and women should be made to face the full wrath of the law. The Vice President, who spoke to news men shortly after the meeting said: “I am very concerned, in fact, very angry about what I see happening to young men and women who are arrested, in some cases maimed or killed by men of the police force.”

He said that the President, Muhammadu Buhari and himself had discussed the matter on a number of occasions with the President also showing his displeasure about such reports, resolving to ensure reforms.

According to him, such violations of human rights are “completely unacceptable because these are individuals who are meant to protect Nigerians. The arrest, maiming or killing of young people or anyone at all, is completely wrong. It is unlawful and illegal, and anyone involved in this act ought to be investigated and prosecuted.

“Today, I had a meeting with the Inspector General of Police. We reviewed several of these issues. The President and I have had discussions on this; he is very concerned about it. He wants to see a reform.

“You are probably aware that the IGP has issued a statement looking at all these issues, in particular, the warning against the use of these tactical units such as SARS for purposes of doing anything other than anti-robbery.

“For example, and I think in his statement, he specifically said that you cannot have a situation where SARS says they are investigating Cybercrime by arresting young men and women carrying their laptops and phones. Cybercrime is an electronic crime. I don’t see how you can investigate that by seizing people’s phones in a taxi or in their cars.

“It is very obvious that this is a major concern, a few bad eggs in the police force are causing all of these problems because it is all over the place, in different states. There is a need to take serious action.

“The IG’s statement today, is a good first step. He has said clearly that police men must wear police uniforms. You cannot say that because you belong to a tactical unit, you can dress in your casual clothing and be armed, because people can’t even tell the difference between robbers and the police, if you are not properly dressed in police uniform. So, clearly, a reform is in the offing. “So, I will like to encourage civil society activists, young men and women, who bring this regularly, by the way, to the attention of government and the police. And I think that activism is important because they have been able to bring a lot of these issues to the attention of the police and government, and that is an important part of the process of the reform.

“It is very obvious that this is a major concern. A few bad eggs in the police force are causing all of these problems. It is all over the place, in different states. There is a need to take serious action. The IG’s statement today, is a good first step.

“He has said clearly that officers have to dress properly. You cannot say that because you belong to a tactical unit, you can dress in your casual clothing, armed in a car.

“People can’t even tell the difference between robbers and the police, if you are not properly dressed in police uniform.”

The Vice President said that all hands should be on deck to effect the reforms, adding: “I think that we all have to work together to ensure that the police and law enforcement agents, do what their duty is and their duty is to protect us, protect our society and livelihoods and homes.

“By the way, many of them are doing their duties excellently well, but there are some of them who are engaged in these activities.

“So, we must see this as something we all must work together to achieve, as individuals, to bring to the attention of the police and government, where there have been violations.

“And on the part of government and the police: to ensure that every one of those allegations is properly investigated and those found responsible are prosecuted and publicized so that people know that prosecution has taken place and this is the consequence. I am very confident that we will have a reformed police force and that process has already begun.”
