$2.1 Billion Arms Scandal: Nduka, ThisDay Publisher Surrenders To EFCC

Nduka Obiagbena Publisher ThisDayReport reaching us has indicated that the Publisher of Thisday newspapers and President of the Newspapers Proprietors Association of Nigeria (NPAN), Nduka Obaigbena, has finally surrendered to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in respect of his role in the $2.1 Billion armed scam preferred against the former National Security Adviser (NSA), retired Colonel Sambo Dasuki.
Obaigbena, who is under probe over the receipt of N670 million from Dasuki allegedly gave to him, was said to have been sited at the headquarters of the EFCC in Abuja today.
Obaigbena was earlier in the course of the EFCC investigations, quoted to have said that N550 million was approved by former President Goodluck Jonathan for compensation to him as a result of the bombing of his newspaper office in Abuja while N120 million was for 12 media houses whose publications were confiscated by the military.
Meanwhile, some of the media houses have however denied receiving the fund, while some have refunded their share of the money after it became public that it was from the money meant for purchase of arms to fight Boko Haram. [myad]
