Ebira community from Kogi State, residence in the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja has scheduled its first Annual Lecture, Prayer and Book Launch for next Saturday, January 26.
The event, scheduled to hold at Kuje Town Hall, is expected to be chaired by a prominent traditional title holder, Ohiotenyete of Ebiraland and veteran public administrator, Alhaji Isa Ozi Salami.
A statement by the Chief Executive Officer of Greenbarge Medina and Communications Limited (GMCL), which is organizing the event on behalf of Ebira community, Yusuf Ozi Usman, said that the prayer, lecture and book launch are being put together in memory of prominent Ebira leaders who died in the course of serving their birth place and humanity generally.
Two of such leaders, the statement said, are late Alhaji Isa O. Ademoh, who until his death in 2017, was Director in the Agric and Rural Department of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and Alhaji Idris Mohammed Ondekus, who until his death in 2018, was the Principal of the Government Science and Technical College, Garki, Abuja.
The statement said that the book, to be launched at the occasion with the former Governorship candidate in Kogi State, Chief Emmanuel Enesi Ozigi as Chief launcher, detailed the lives of, and contributions by both the dead and living Ebira leaders to the peace, unity and development of Ebira in Kuje and at home.
It said that the Director in the Directorate of Linkages and Collaboration at the Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA), Professor Adam Abere Okene will deliver the lecture on the theme: selfless service to one’s community as part of serving God, even as Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello of Kogi State and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammad Musa Bello will serve as Distinguished Guests of Honour.
