A Professor of Commercial Law and two-time Dean, Faculty of Law, Professor Enefiok Essien has been appointed the new Vice Chancellor of University of Uyo in Akwa Ibo state.
This was contained in a statement issued by the university on Monday.
A statement by the Registrar of the University, Edak Umondak also said Essien was also formerly Chairman of the Committee of Deans of the same institution.
“Prof. Essien is taking over from Professor Comfort Ekpo, who is completing her five-year tenure as Vice Chancellor, University of Uyo at the end of November 2015.”
The statement said that the emergence of Essien followed a painstaking thorough and uncompromising transparent process and urged the university community to give him the support he required to succeed. [myad]
