Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State, has made it clear that under no circumstance would he leave the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Obiano, who won the just concluded governorship election for second term, said that it would be unthinkable for him as chairman of APGA), to quit it.
The governor described the son of late Ekemba of Nnewi, Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu, who joind the All Progressives Congress (APC), recently, as a none entity in the politics of Anambra state.
Answering reporters’ questions shortly after an audience with President Muhammadu Buhari, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Obiano said when asked if the rumour that he is planning to quit APGA: “No. Never. That is totally unfounded. I will never leaver APGA. I’m the leader and chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT). And again, by God’s grace, I’m the governor and governor-elect.
He said that APGA is very strong in the Southeast “and that you will see very soon in the coming elections and from there we will match on.”
On whether he would try to woo back Ojukwu’s son who left the APGA, the governor said: “his is of no consequence, I’m sorry to say.”
The governor-elect said that he was at the Villa to see President Muhammadu Buhari and thank him for keeping to his word that the election in Anambra state would be free and fair “and that is exactly how it went. I’m very happy to come to report to him personally on the success of the election.”
